It’s such a pity about the management of the GuestReady flat I rented through Airbnb in Westminster. The flat was provided to me unhygienic, it is damaged (including water damage) and it smells. SEE PICTURES: expired food (some since 2018), NOTHING WAS CLEAN it was filthy, rubbish everywhere in all cupboards including smelly clothes from past tenants and some rubbish was wet from the kitchen leak...
The leak in the kitchen was reported before I moved in but I was not informed about it, I discovered the leak days after moving in. Due to the leak I had to use a local laundrette at my own expense and wash the dishes in the shower. Additionally, issues were reported in past reviews so before agreeing to rent I questioned 4 specific issues, I was informed "All issues have been sorted" but unfortunately I experienced the same reported issues after moving in.
It took hours over weeks to deep clean everything! I spent one week in hospital with a severe bacterial infection and I was concerned about the flat's condition, specially after the toilet leak, so I requested a bacterial test to be completed, this was not yet completed by GuestReady. The water tank and drains in the bathroom continue to smell, I could not improve this. The underfloor heating is not working (for years) even though the instructions are still part of the house manual. The communication I received from the GuestReady team and other sources did not always match.
The location is amazing, the flat is big and the neighbours are sweet but the flat needs repair and hygiene seriously needs to maintained! I am sad for future tenants if the issues are...
Read moreThe first floor apartment is well located in area close proximity to restaurants, bars, groceries, transportation, 12 minute walk to Tower Bridge & historic buildings.
The management company communicates both prior & during the stay to provide information & responsive to concerns extremely quickly!
The apartment has been completely updated, with a modern and whimsical air, in a 200++ year old building. The size, layout, decor, hardwood floors (they do creak as you walk), furniture, bedroom, kitchen & the deck exceeded our expectations! There isn’t any air conditioning. The unit was clean, well maintained & safe.
The living room has a large comfortable two seater leather sofa couch, huge windows & door providing light & fresh air (leading to a large outdoor deck), smart TV, portable fan & well decorated.
The kitchen has almost everything you need to cook a meal (only one pot & two frying pans), cutlery, dishes & glasses for 4 & only 3 coffee cups (need to wash often), French Press coffee maker, soap & cleaning supplies provided. No microwave. The ‘dining table’ is a old wine barrel with stools.
The bathroom is well designed with ample room & large walk in shower. Sample sized shampoo, body wash & conditioner provided. There is limited space for toiletries (3 inch wide tiled shelf). The washer/dryer has detergent provided as well as a drying rack. The large bedroom has a very comfortable double plus mattress, 2 large windows, well decorated and quiet (couldn’t hear traffic or road noise).
During our stay we could hear the tenants above us walk around their unit....
Read moreWe have always stayed in the West Kensington area when visiting London, but wanted to be a bit more central this time. This apartment location was perfect! The apartment was lovely, and provided ample space for our family of four (two adults, two kids - ages 15 and 20). The 15 year old took one bedroom, and the 20 year old used the sofabed in the living room. The kitchen was spacious and we were all able to easily sit around the table to eat at the same time. The cabinets were fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, tea, etc. The online (accessed via QR code) manual for the apartment was quite handy, as UK appliances don't always operate the same as US ones. The ability to put the key in the lockbox each day was helpful, as we didn't always stay together and whomever arrived back at the apartment first could easily get in. Downsides: as with many London apartments, there is no air conditioning. However, the apartment has multiple fans available (we didn't use them, but came close as the weather got warmer each day). We have never had luck with a UK washing machine; they all claim to be combo washer/dryer units, but the clothes are anything but dry when they come out. Not only that, once the cycle starts, you can't open the door for several hours (could be many, many hours depending on the chosen cycle). As much as we have loved our West Kensington apartment (stayed there nearly half a dozen times), this Paddington apartment might be our new...
