I asked what the daily soup and pasta was. The server had to do the same! After a surprisingly long debate (visible to me) he told me the soup was mushroom and the pasta was gnocchi. Dry gnocchi? Off he went again for another conflab. Not dry, apparently, but with a little mushroom soup.
Dogs running about between tables off leads causing havoc / misery for many of us ( even indoors !). Swarming with pigeons, to the extent that they were all over our table trying to eat from our plates. Both these problems need to be addressed, for the sake of hygiene if not us long suffering customers.

Read moreStopped in while researching Highgate for my blog. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and the setting is peaceful. The breakfast menu is small—I had the avocado on toast, which was pretty good. The latte wasn’t the best; some extra barista training would make a big difference. There was also a fly issue inside that could use attention. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming. A pleasant spot to sit, mostly frequented by older locals and mums with babies...
Read moreThis is a nice little café in a lovely park. They offer a nice selection of home-made cakes along with hot food that's attractive to both adults and kids. The staff are helpful, if perhaps a little overwhelmed at times, and bring your food to your table.
What's pleasing is that you can sit inside and outside in enough safety to let your children, or dogs, roam freely. It's a lovely location looking out over the park although there is some noise from the main road up...
