This was my first time ordering with Sushi Wa and it's easily the last. I spent £63 ordering a few rolls, a pork katsu curry and a tuna and salmon chirashi. The rolls were meh, the katsu came with the curry sauce that was very watery thin but worst of all was the chirashi. As you can tell from the photos it was wafer this and unevenly cut. It was so thin that you could even see the shredded seaweed underneath it! I thought that this must be some mistake so i called to let the restaurant know. I was shortly called back by the waiter who told me that the manager says that Sushi Wa cuts the thickest pieces of sushi in London... I asked to speak to the manager who then told me that he was actually very generous since he decided to give me 5 pieces of tuna and salmon instead of the usual 4 (so in other words i was lucky). I then asked if he thought it was acceptable to serve something so thin that i can see through it - Now came the kicker - he started laughing at me, following up by saying he guesses that i should of ordered some rolls instead. He then offered nothing as compensation, so i put down the phone and decided to see him in person.

I entered an empty restaurant and spoke to the chef (the manager) who continued to giggle whilst not blinking when looking at the uneven wafer thin pieces of sashimi. I had told him that i have eaten in Tokyo, so i would like to believe that i have some experience when it comes to sushi. He then said "in Japan they cut it very thick but this was London..." He never apologised for his rudeness or his poor quality cooking, so i just decided to ask for a refund (only the chirashi) and leave.

To summarise, if you enjoy quality food with friendly and helpful staff then don't come here. If on the other hand you enjoy off cuts of fish and a manager who thinks it's ok to laugh in your face when you have a complaint then please,...

I had sushi, green tea doriyaki and sake cocktails. The cocktails were amazing, sweet but at the same time balanced, I was seriously impressed! The green tea doriyaki it was warm and super tasty, for me it was the first time I tried a doriyaki warm, I usually got them cold but this one was so soft and the green tea cream....wow!! The salmon sushi and the tempura prawn were brilliant as well and the salmon was very fresh! The gyoza were tasty too. The atmosphere was very nice, with comfortable seats, nice decorations, quiet...top for a romantic date! In terms of customer service it was excellent as well, the waitress took care of every order, looked after us but was discreet at the same time. Price wise for such a quality of food and place it was pretty good!! I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely go back there again to try the...

I recently visited a local Japanese restaurant in London, and it was a genuinely lovely experience. As soon as I walked in, I noticed how clean and inviting the place was, which made me feel comfortable right away.

The food was crafted with real care. Each dish was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. It’s clear that the chefs take pride in their work.

The staff were also a highlight. Everyone was friendly and attentive, making sure I felt welcome throughout my meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I would happily recommend to anyone looking for quality Japanese food in a...

I don’t usually write reviews… but this place deserves one! My husband and I went here for lunch, and we both ended up completely focused on our food—barely saying a word. Haha. I guess when something is this good, talking becomes unnecessary. The whole time, the only thought running through my head was “Wow, this is so fresh”—probably about 42 times! We cleaned our plates so well that I almost took a picture of the empty dishes… but I didn’t want to make anyone too jealous. Plus, it’s just a short walk from Archway Station, so it’s super easy to get to. If you love fresh sushi, this is a must-visit!

I have finally found it the best restaurant in London. The taste is absolutely amazing. The kimchi jeon reminded me of Korean holidays. How can they be so good at both Japanese and Korean cuisine? This place is an incredible restaurant that excels in cleanliness, taste, and service. I also loved the atmosphere it felt comfortable even when dining alone. In fact, when I was there, many people were eating alone as well. If you’re reading reviews and hesitating, I’d say don’t hesitate. just try it

Seven Sisters in Highgate Sushi Wa was a new experience for me. A friend suggested something different from the norm. We came on Wed night which for the restaurant was quiet and lacked atmosphere but it meant our table got full attention. Selection of sushi was good and in particular the Seven Sisters was impressive so much so that we ordered 2 plates. Lots of flavours and eye catching presentation. Staff were attentive and it was worth the trip.
