M&S Foodhall — Local services in London

Went to the new M&S Food store in Archway. Very disappointed. The store was well stocked with a good choice of meals and groceries. However, the experience was completely let down by the check out experience. M&S only had self service lanes open. No manned ones open and there are only 2. The check out was chaotic: only one over stretched assistant to help with many issues. I was overcharged as the till didn’t process a promotion. I reported it to the assistant, who called the manager. He had to use a manned lane to resolve the matter. Without sharp attention I would have been cheated out of £7! Really very disappointed. I won’t be shopping there again anytime soon. When will the stores realise that they will sell more if they provide some attention and service? People go to retail stores for service: without this we can just...

M&S Archway... worst M&S shopping trip ever. Large trolley full of stuff but only self checkouts open. Had my own shopping trolley to take my goods home in but as self checkout I couldn't put straight in there as have to put everything in the bagging area first so everything was falling all over the place before I could pack away. Then someone decided to move the M&S trolley, with my pound still in it, out of the way as the space is not big enough for trollies at self checkout. Luckily one of the assistants was very helpful and refunded my pound from a till. One of the regular checkout tills I might add. Absolute nightmare. Really miss the M&S in...

Love M&S lovely store. The staff are friendly and obviously the food superb. And as it's walking distance I don't have to get a bus to Nags Head.. Although I miss the clothes... Only problem as a went to get some milk the heavy shelf fell down and hit my hand ouch! A member of staff saw this we tried to pick it up but it was too heavy to lift. She ran and got a manager who took my name address and age.. I don't know why.....Unless they thought I was going to sue them. Anyway I still shop there but more careful about the...
