So before I came here I looked at the reviews and I’m so glad I did. The reviews while some are good, I found similar reviews from different people about rudeness, not the best food and subtle racism, not to mention a manager who doesn’t like to apologise if they make errors. Can I just say, while I did not experience this on my visit I do believe after I’ve done my research and speaking to people who I know who have gone that it’s hit or miss so you’ll either get nice staff that day or the not so nice staff and cakes and coffee seem to be a win while the hot food is maybe a meh. I tried the croque monsieur with ham and it was OK, I can’t say it was horrible. The latte was as a really good one. The place is quite expensive especially for the area it’s in, feels like central London prices and the toilet door is always left open, or at least on my visit. Was there a while and no one noticed that which is bad because a lot of the seating is close to the bathroom. I would visit again to see how consistent this place is because one thing I hate is spending my money in a place that doesn’t deserve it so wait for the update. As of today I will say it was a nice visit for me and I enjoyed the sandwich I had.
UPDATE: This place is great every time. I’ve tried lots of sandwiches and cakes. Although some are not made in store some are but those...
Read moreA disappointing visit. Came around 3.30pm today (Sunday) with my 2 year old planning to get him an early dinner (savoury crepe). I checked the website before ordering and it said they were open until 6pm. When we went to order we were told the kitchen was closed and that we could not order a crepe. Queue toddler meltdown… We were just leaving when a member of staff came over and directly asked my toddler if he wanted chocolate, fruit or cake. I didn’t feel I could say no when she’d directly offered it to him so I said yes to fruit, thinking she was offering it as a goodwill gesture for the kitchen being closed. He’s never eaten chocolate. She brought over a rich chocolate tart which really wasn’t suitable for young children and put it in front of him. Again, I didn’t feel like I could send it back after she’d put it in front of him. He started eating it then she brought over the card reader and I had to pay £5 for this desert that I hadn’t asked for and didn’t want. It’s really not on to offer any kind of food to a young child, especially so if you’re expecting for it to be paid for and where the food is really not suitable for children. I won’t be going back here, at least not with a child. Then, to top it off, a van with people who owned or worked at the cafe then double parked next to my car blocking it in when I...
Read moreI was looking for a french bakery for my wedding cakes and had a friend of mine recommending Le Delice.
The experience was overall good and Karine was very nice to deal with via messaging/in person. We ended up getting 4 cakes from different flavours and it really felt like having french cakes in France!
The cakes were delivered in due time at the venue in Greenwich and were beautiful. We received many compliments from our guests for the great choice of variety of flavour.
The areas of improvement I would like to bring up for future experiences with other prospect clients: The lack clarity on pricing when dealing with cake size (all cakes on the flyer were showing from £36) and flavours. We were given a higher quote (£50) and I was not sure how the prices were made up. The owner was kind enough to provide a discounted price but we appreciate transparency. The same goes with tasting price - we were not told that we would have to pay for the cakes tasting and were given the receipt on the day without any heads up, and I think a heads up would have made us feel more comfortable during the tasting session. listing ingredients for allergies/food restrictions instead of having to ask for every cake
Despite those minor issues, I'd still recommend the bakery especially for...
