Arlo & Moe HG — Restaurant in London

The pastries are great, the coffee isn't that good in my opinion compared to MILK or Biju, but it's okay. I've probably gone to this place between 8-13 times in the last 7 months as its close to my gym. I never post bad reviews, but this morning I tried to get a coffee and the staff told me we couldn't get one till 8:30 because that's when they open - fair enough. Then I looked at my phone and it was 8:27. I thought that was weird and just walked off, but thinking about it on my way home it really started to annoy me! The staff was sat outside, drinking a coffee himself so the machine was probably turned on/set up, the doors were all open and he wasn't doing anything either. But aside from that (as technically speaking they were closed for another 3 minutes), the staff were really blunt and dismissive towards me, which is strange considering we've bought coffee and food from their multiple times. Sadly, the customer service of the main server leaves much to be desired - disdainful and openly rude to guests. I thought perhaps it was my mis-judgement, however, after three visits the experience is the same. On my most recent visit, another customer was told off for clearing their own table, I was spoken to as if I were an idiot because I hadn't understood the format of the menu; and after asking to sit outside and being told there was no room, another party who came in after me was offered the outside table when it became free. The coffee isn't good enough, the cooked food is over-priced, and when you pay you are offered tipping options of up to 20% which seems excessive when the service is minimal and unpleasant. However,

Over the past few years that this branch has been opened, I have tried to give it a try, only to end up disapointed... either by the unspleasantness of the person serving you - I do not recall ever feeling welcomed, but rather that I am bothering - or by the very slow service. I sometimes stop by to grab a coffee to-go on my way to the station. Yet, even when I allow myself and the barista enough time (10 mins before the arrival time of my train), I often end up almost missing my train... even when I am the only one that needs serving. I myself work in a coffee shop, and perhaps my expectations too high... nevertheless, I do believe that the minimum isn't...
