Utterly Disappointing and Dangerous Experience
I visited Leon in Farringdon yesterday at 3 PM and ordered an unsweetened SOY MILK matcha latte. The cup even had the correct label indicating my order. Yet, upon taking one sip, I could tell it was made with dairy milk. This is a serious issue as I have a dairy allergy.
When I politely brought this to the attention of the staff, the woman who made the drinks insisted I was wrong and showed no concern about the potential allergic reaction I could suffer from their mistake. Things became even more absurd when another customer, who had been mistakenly given my soy order, came over to confirm that the labels were swapped. At this point, instead of showing any empathy or urgency, the staff were dismissive, hostile, and actually told us to "shut up" while remaking the drinks.
I had already lost trust and asked for a refund, but the damage was done. Not only was the handling of allergens negligent, but their attitude toward an allergy complaint was shocking and utterly unacceptable. I left feeling unwell and deeply disappointed.
This isn’t just bad service — it’s dangerous and could have led to a serious allergic reaction. I will not be returning and strongly urge others with food sensitivities to exercise caution at...
Read moreI had a great experience at Leon King's Cross today and it was due to the lovely staff that work there! I was due to meet a colleague for a work meeting and I saw a young man wheeling a trolley through the station with a Leon lanyard around his neck. I asked him where Leon was in the station as I couldn't see it and he very sweetly said I could walk with him. Costas (hope it's a C not a K) was a breath of fresh air and is a credit to the team there as he was so smiley and positive! I also spoke to a lovely lady who was helping people get to the right place at the counter in the morning rush and she was also smiley and chatted with me, recommending the salmon, egg and spinach bagel which was great. Due to an ankle injury, I was using a crutch and after I sat down I realised I needed milk for my tea. Very kindly, a gentleman who was working there went and got the milk and sugar for me even offering to take my tea bag away in his hand which I thought was adorable! There was also a girl who cheerfully came and cleared my table which makes a change to a lot of the coffee places as you often see leftover cups and plates etc outside. All in all, well done to the team there....
Read moreFood was really poor. I used to go to the Ludgate outlet which was great but not on my way any more. I was so disappointed today. Staff on the till were lovely and my coffee was delicious and fast but honestly the kitchen! I had to wait 10 minutes for food because apparently “toast takes a while” but I don’t understand how it can take 10 mins to toast 2 slices of bread, especially when it was so undercooked it could have been warm bread. The kitchen staff looked very relaxed, no one moving quickly… The full English was dire, grey bacon, sausage cut down the middle as it was clearly supposed to be used for a sandwich, overcooked halloumi and the eggs… well, you can see in the picture they hadn’t been runny for a long time… I don’t even think it was down to the 5 minutes they were sat on the pass (waiting for the toast) - they were so hard. Honestly awful. But no complaints at all about the till service or coffee which is why I have given 2* and not 1*. Expect better food...
