A surprisingly relaxed cafe near the busy intersection of Camberwell you really can just chill and enjoy good coffee.
At 3pm on a Wednesday it’s no surprise that the main occupants were students and freelancers happily working away and the light/airy feel with gentle background music proved very productive.
Don’t be fooled by the exterior into thinking this place is small, there are two rooms upstairs, a garden out back and the downstairs room is full length (big and light) so you’ll find a table without any trouble.
Staff are polite but not quite friendly. However it’s worth remembering this is part of a wider whole for the charity London Reclaimed (see their website) about encouraging young people into employment.
Food looked tasty but the cakes had dried out too much and as other reviewers have mentioned should really be covered. Otherwise a pleasant experience and would...
Read moreThis is my local coffee place and has helped me and the rest of Camberwell survive lockdown! Coffee is best in South East London. All the staff know how to make a good latte and flat white and offer a variety of milks to suit the oat and soya brigade! Natasha, Steve, Daisy and Co are friendly and it's been an amazing experience getting to know them so well over the past two years especially. Bread, sandwiches, cakes, cookies, salads - all very good quality and lovely prepared and presented. They also have a well stocked store with high quality jams, pasta and other dry good. They love dogs which is always a bonus. Service is friendly and prompt, they always have a great soundtrack. If you are in Camberwell in need of a coffee, breakfast, lunch or a snack then head to Lumberjack. The staff are lovely and a trip to this place can...
Read moreFirst time visiting this cafe, although small, the downstairs seating is sizeable and the outdoor garden area was a lovely decision. The owners/ staff members were also inviting and friendly. I can’t say I enjoyed my food/ beverages though. I had a sausage roll that was alright but pretty cold even after being warmed up, I also ordered an iced chai latte that was unfortunately unflavoured and unpleasant. The singular bathroom was in a slight state as well. However, my partner ordered a cappuccino which he said was one the best he had ever drank, but again, his sandwich was lacklustre. Coming here, I would recommend the hot coffee alone, the pretty seating and artisanal shop...
