Great staff, nice place, bland food._
....We've been spoilt by Troodos Greek Restaurant by the Ally Pally entrance in Priory Road.__
Vineyard's is a nice place -really Mediterranean looking inside and with nice seating
out the front with an awning for shelter.__ However, the 'cooking' just seems to be a matter or making things hot then serving them (or just serving them in the case of cold dishes)... _____________________________________________________________________Grilled swordfish was well-cooked but just grilled and not char-grilled so no added flavour. Beans and spinach were heated-up but (apart from lemon and oil) had no flavour whatsoever. Rice accompaniment was uninteresting. Nothing WRONG with the food but taking something out of the fridge and heating it up to serve isn't really 'cooking' in my book. I WOULD recommend this place to have fried breaded whitebait or some Tzatziki / Tarama' and pitta with a cappucino or a Keo, sat outside on a warm day. But the main courses are just so bland, no care or enthuseasm has gone into them. A real shame as the staff and decor are...

Price £14.30
Starter: Kashamiri (squid version of onion rings basically) Me and my friends tried each other's starters - one of them ordered prawns with avocado which I didn't know was a thing, but if I came here again, I would DEFINITELY order - it is so soft and creamy; perfect combination. Btw, the pitta bread (which accompanies all starters) was delicious - so refined and particular; a highlight for sure.
Main: Black eyed beans with chips I will not lie in saying that this dish disappointed me. While the beans were soft, there were covered in too much olive oil - it was overpowering. The chips were great though; crispy, seasoned, well - portioned - I would happily have them again.
Dessert: I didn't order, one because I was full and two, because the desserts didn't look that appealing. I think the owners should add more traditional desserts. Apart from one dish, they were pretty standard; ice cream; sorbet.
Overall: Great While I didn't enjoy part of my main, this restaurant is high quality. From the decor to the waiters, to the presentation of the food. As someone who had not tried Greek cuisine, I feel like I got a taster as to what it is like. Not only do I recommend this as a first - timer, but if you want good...
Read moreKnew were going to have an issue when they looked at us like we were insane when we walked in on Sunday afternoon without a booking (it was 4pm and the place was empty). Asked if we could sit outside (asked us if we’d booked again and again looked confused that we were asking to sit outside, which was also empty). They left us out there for 15 minutes with no menus/drinks. When they finally came back the man laughed and said enthusiastically ‘we forgot about you’ (fantastic, cheers for that) told him it was my gfs birthday. Nothing. Ordered food and it was really average, I thought this place was authentic (everything g served with chips or rice), tiny portion of tsziki that was not very fresh or tasty, beans were out of a tin with lemon squeezed on top. Gf liked her meatballs and my lamb was alright but really disappointed by the restaurant as a whole (had to wait another 10 mins for them to sort bill out, barely even a thankyou) would definitely not be back and would not recommend if your looking for actual Greek food or any form of customer service. A shame as we are local and...
