Market Thai located in Nottinghill is such a hidden gem that when you walk in from the busy streets of london, it makes you feel like you have transported into someone's traditional home in Thailand.

The interior is adorned with ornate wood-carved arches, high ceilings and native artifacts and adds to the vibes of the place.

We had the following: Mixed Platter Starter - £14.95 Duck with Tamarind Sauce. - £14.90 Panang Curry - £11.90 Jasmine Rice - £3.50

The mixed platter was a mix of vegan gyozas, spring rolls, chicken sate, prawn on toast and steamed dumpling and honestly the selection was quite good as it comes with three different type of sauces you can dunk it in.

The duck and curry was so good and it was just full of flavour and really hits the spot. You need to also try their refreshing thai iced which is just perfect to quench your thirst this spring. You should defo visit when you are in the area.

Would you visit Market Thai Nottinghill? 🌴🇹🇭✨

Lovely staff. scoring 1 star for the VERY VERY VERY SLOW SERVICE.... 45min for vegetable spring rolls and an hour for drunken noodles! Guys the food is standard the spring rolls were so burnt and dry that the filling was missing from 2 of them. To be honest I didn’t mind the quality of it if it was quick within the hour but waiting so long for our food made me expect only the very best and a massive let down on the spring rolls after waiting 45mins for them then the main meal another hour was a real let down. I planed a quick date night with my husband got the baby sitter in to look after my FOUR KIDS and to waste 2 whole hours just waiting for food was a bit frustrating waiting from 9pm- 11pm waiting for food was such a waste of my precious time when I got out of there 11:10 tried to rush around to enjoy a few drinks! LOVELY VENUE NICE SET UP BUT PLEASE HIRE MORE KITHEN STAFF sorry I won’t be coming there again as I don’t have the time to starve! Nice same same Thai food nothing like a WOW factor just standard wish I could say it was worth the wait BUT IT WASNT! 😩 so disappointing !! Sorry for scoring...

No regulation to COVID. We were sharing 1 food menu and 1 drinks menu with all the other tables, it was taken from their table to ours, then passed on all evening. Toilets were also clearly not cleaned, with ladies sanitary bin overflowing.

Service was incredibly slow with one waitress and just 1 chef. The food itself was fine, about 5/10 but the prawn toast was very unpleasant (so bad that I had to use a napkin to get rid of the oil), and the tamarind duck was dry, disgusting and inedible.

The bill that came was handwritten with which was hard to read. When the time came for us to pay we asked for service to be taken off, explaining one person in our party was in the at risk category, and that the food was not great and service slow, to which the waitress said “what do you mean, there’s only two of us here working tonight” and was incredibly rude. She only calmed down as the chef was stood by her clearing plates and said it was okay for us to not pay service.

Maybe with more staff it’d be different,...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A True Gem for Thai Food Lovers – Since 1998! We had a fantastic lunch at The Market Thai, a beloved spot serving authentic Thai cuisine since 1998! The flavours were absolutely spot-on, and. Everything from the spicy and tangy papaya salad to the creamy red curry and fragrant Pad Thai was delicious. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet finish, beautifully presented and full of coconut richness. The ambience inside is warm and inviting, with traditional Thai decor and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. A small thing to note: the entrance is a bit tight, as it’s nestled between a bar and some café chairs on the pavement, which is something to be aware of, especially during busy times. But once you step in, you’re greeted by a genuinely welcoming and flavorful experience that’s well worth it. Highly recommended for anyone seeking real Thai food in London with a cosy, well-established charm!

Situated in the heart of Portobello Market, it is quite a big restaurant on the first floor of a building. Surprisingly bigger than what we anticipated. The interior, according to a friend was quite authentic and was lovely to look at. There seemed to be only two people working on the restaurant floor itself handling orders and they were very chillaxed. Quiet atmosphere… perhaps a little too quiet aha. But overall service was lovely As a first timer trying Thai food at a restaurant, I opted for their green curry. They were quite accommodating to lower the spice level for me, so that was nice. Creamy and coconut-y curry with the rice was filling. I can’t say about accuracy of tastes to the real deal, but this was quite good.
