Dined he with 6 friends for the 1st time , on Christmas Eve , arrival for our 19:00 time , we was shown to our table , we ordered our drinks , one of the orders was a bottle of Prosecco, on tasting the Prosecco the ladies said this is not Prosecco , and looked at the label , it was Asti. Informed the waiter who went away and come back with Prosecco Roses , which was fine , we ordered our food , the starter came out rather quick , and was nice food, as soon as we was done , our mains come out. We thought that is quick , but again nice food , after we finished our mains I was asked would you like to see our dessert menu , I asked if we could be given a few minutes, the waitress said I’ll leave the menu’s. The waiter the approached the table within a minute and said if you want desserts you need to order as the kitchen closes at 20:30 , I asked what time the bar closes , as our intention was to have a few cocktails and make it a nice evening as it was Christmas Eve , the waiter informed us it closes at 21:00 , I said are you joking , he replied no he wasn’t joking, we decided not to have dessert, a couple of our party ordered another drink , the waiter took the order, one drink from the order was brought to our table , when we asked about the 3 glasses of port we ordered , the waitress said she will check , on her return she stated they didn’t have any , at this point we asked for the bill. The bill had service charged added. As we all felt the evening was rushed & we was an inconvenience being there, so we asked for the service charge to be remove , which was done , a on leaving the premises , we spoke to a co owner about our experience, he stated it was Sunday and they close around 21:00. I said it is Sunday , but it also Christmas Eve, We left and I wished them well , while outside the co owner asked if we would like a free shot , of which we said thanks but no thanks. So the main question would we return ? No. Why? Felt rushed , didn’t really feel welcomed. Looking at some of the reviews post our visit it is not the first time , going forward Marley’s should state there intentions , if we would have known at the time of booking that they will be closing at 21:00 , we would not have booked. The food was good. Nice clean restaurant , not so much of an atmosphere at it was not very busy , waitress was polite and nice. 1 waiter made us...
Read moreI'm not the type to leave a review (and if I do it's because I want to support a great business with a 5 star when they deserve it), but unfortunately I think the poor servive here warrants a negative review. We were a group of 6 adults and a baby. The food was very nice and we were all happy with our meals. However, the service was so disappointing that we won't be going back, and we wouldn't recommend it to others. They asked us to leave the table after we had only been there for 1 hour, they said that it was busy so they needed the table back, so we offered to pay. They were unhappy with the fact that we wanted to split the bill by our own totals that we had calculated and not evenly - the eyeroll from the waitress made this very clear. She moved around the table taking payment from each of us without so much as a smile or a thank you. She looked so annoyed with us, which was completely inappropriate. We still paid the service charge because it was already on the bill and we did not want to make them more annoyed by asking for it to be taken off. In hindsight I wish we had asked for it to be removed as they definitely didn't deserve it. There was very little courtesy in the service they provided. After we had paid, we wanted to finish our drinks before leaving, bearing in mind we had only been there for an hour so we really hadn't had the table for very long. They kept coming over and standing staring at us with clearly annoyed and impatient looks on their faces. They asked us if we were all finished even though some of us were still drinking our tea. One of the waitresses then came over and started picking up and taking away one thing from the table at a time, e.g. a cup on its own, then returning and taking a fork on its own. She looked very frustrated as she did so. It made us all feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's really not how we would expect to be treated when we are...
Read moreAllow me to share my delightful experience at Marley's, a local gem nestled in the town of Hornchurch. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the stunning and mesmerizing interior. Marley's is undeniably a boujie place that offers a visual feast, perfect for those seeking Instagram-worthy pictures.
What truly sets Marley's apart is their welcoming and friendly staff. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making every visit a memorable one. My 5-year-old son absolutely adores this place and considers it his favorite spot to eat, which speaks volumes about its family-friendly environment.
When it comes to the menu, my husband always indulges in their Mediterranean breakfast, while I find myself falling in love with the cream honey (kaymak in Turkish), an absolute delight when paired with freshly baked bread. Additionally, Marley's boasts an amazing selection of smoothies that I never miss out on.
While we often visit for breakfast, we have also enjoyed brunch and dinner at Marley's on several occasions. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, each one meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The plates of food are like works of art, almost too pretty to eat.
To say we adore Marley's would be an understatement. If we had the opportunity, we would happily dine there every day. As it stands, we make it a point to visit at least once a month, as it has become our mandatory family outing. We are truly grateful to have Marley's so conveniently located near us, as the quality of their food is beyond description.
For those seeking a unique and extraordinary dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Marley's. From the stunning ambiance to the friendly staff, and of course, the exceptional food quality, this establishment has it all. Prepare to be enchanted and indulge in a culinary journey...
