So, story time kids. I waited around 10 minutes in rush hour to place my order, which was expected. What I didnt anticipate was waiting a whole 30 minutes for my order only for it to be forgotten and removed from the order list. I waited another 10 minutes in the queue to ask for a refund, only to be told I cant have one. It wasnt the food I cared about, it's the principal that they wasted almost an hour of my time which has never happened before, as well as the fact that I missed 4 of my buses to go home while waiting to just ask for the refund. As a consumer I felt I could have spent my money better else where other than Macdonald's as it is my given right, and I was extremely irritated that I wasnt given the opportunity. So after the manager said I cant have a refund, they decided to make my order. The toffee latte had its cream melted into it but was kinda warm, my ice cream looked like somthing very inappropriate....., but the donut was okay. The only great thing was I was offered free medium fries to try and make up for the whole ordeal, which I accepted due to not being able to access a refund, and plus because its free Macdonald's fries😂. So i would highly advise that if you are in the same situation as I was, get google up on your phone and show them exactly where it says you ARE allowed a refund if you feel bad service has been given. Macdonald's states that there is no time limit for when an order can be given due to different periods of the day that are effected by rush hour etc, but I'm sure unsatisfactory service in any establishment does call for a refund or an apology. I arrived to pick up a delivery order and found myself waiting for over 20 minutes. Despite the food being prepared and sitting on the counter, the staff repeatedly refused to hand it to me. Instead, they continued with other tasks that could have easily been managed by other team members.
This lack of urgency and consideration is concerning. As a customer, I believe it is essential to be treated with respect and efficiency, just like everyone else. The principle of "first in, first out" should apply equally to all customers, whether they are dining in or picking up an order for delivery.
