I love McDonald's but today at Thamesmead this experience was the worst. Not the food, that was to the usual high standard. What ruined the visit to my favourite restaurant was that I need to get some food fast before the start of the US Grand Prix on Sunday evening with 45 mind to go there should have been plenty of time to ordered and get home for the to the start of the race I thought was plenty. Unfortunately I had to 20min before the order board stated the order was ready for collection. When I got to the counter to collect however the food was not ready and a crowd of customers like me were gathering at the counter with noone seemingly getting any food. After waiting another nearly 10min I asked one of the workers who was refilling the sauces what was going on with my order. He gave me an explanation stating that board shows the food is ready even when it's still being processed. So was my food ready I asked, he said not yet you just have to wait. Unsatisfied with this explanation I asked a lady whose tee shirt had a badge labelled Crew Trainer. She stated that the delay was due the the restaurant being short staffed. I sympathize with the workers on this as they did seem like they were constantly on the go. However this did not explain why the order board was showing over 10 orders were ready but noone was getting their food while the drive through and delivery orders were moving. It seemed obvious to me that the on foot visiting customers were being deprioritised (is that the right word). Finally got the attention of a manager and she took my receipt apologised for the delay and prepared my order herself (with some shouting to put the order together). Whole thing took 45 min. I just got home in time for the start...
Read moreThe staff here seriously need to be trained we came today as a group of 8 all with blue light cards. We tried to order table service which seemed impossible for the member of staff. She couldn't understand that all 8 of us were on the same table and all wanted out own meals. She was constantly doing the same food menu over and over despite repeating over and over to her that our meals were not the same. Then she literally just walked off. Another man came to take over yet again he wasn't putting it down as table service and said he was going to do at the end which he didn't and we were left waiting again. Eventually Another lady came to help in a Christmas jumper who seemed to finally understand and went and collected everyone's meals individually. 3 of the meals were then wrong and had to be changed. Bearing in mind we had just one hour for our work lunchtime- it was taking up to 35 minutes just to make a basic order. The place was run off its feet with deliveries and delivery drivers pushing and shouting out their orders The company do not value the customer now its all about deliveries Absolutely terrible service and staff who have no idea what they are doing. If I could give a...
Read moreI’ve been twice this week and even though the staff seem to be very nice people. The service for actually receiving your food is extremely poor and slow twice I’ve waited ten minutes for my food order which seems awfully long for a fast food restaurant even to pay cash at the till you have to stand there looking like Oliver from film Oliver Twist “please sir I beg you help me sir” while having to trawl through the number of several UBER/JUST EAT drivers all blocking the till area also waiting a long time to collect their orders with walk in customers (this McDonald’s also has a drive through as well adding to the waiting times). I’m confused as to why McDonald’s kfc etc.. don’t just make a complete separate building to service take aways such as Uber eats etc… so that us walk in customers can go back to reasonable waiting times for our food as a ten minute waiting is just to long for one chicken burger meal. Also for a large crispy chicken meal I think with a cheese burger maybe was around £9 which seems excessively expensive for what it is McDonald’s has definitely lost it way as the peoples champion when it...
