The decor is beautiful, some staff are attentive and lovely, others are careless.* The food was terrible. I don't know pita bread could be that crunchy and dry, it was almost a cracker. I asked what the lamb shank was seasoned with, after the waitress came back she said the chef replied with "a special blend of herbs" that doesn't help much does it? I don't fault her but some transparency would have been nice as the cook on the lamb was incredible but there was no real flavour. I beg of the chefs at this place to taste their food - including the hummus. Which was the absolute worst hummus I've ever had in my entire life. The sticky toffee pudding was pretty good. I reckon the brunch was probably better. I mean who could ruin brunch? Don't come here for dinner. I also wanted to find where the name of this place originates from and the only thing that showed up was something about a demon cow on Google? I reckon the demon cow would be more seasoned than the lamb lol. Oh I almost forgot. The water glasses were dirty with some scum or whatever stuck to them, I asked another waitress (who was passing by) to change them, she barely looked at them and said they weren't dirty, I had her hold the glass so she could feel how disgusting they were, only then did she change them. What???
Edit: having read your response, thank you for clarifying the name, I've never seen Meyya written as "Meaa" but I digress, maybe a change of name would be great because that hummus and pita bread are tragic and not a sign of anything other than "I spent so much money on this and I guess I should tell myself it was worth it when I...

As a brunch lover living in North London, I’d been seeing MEAA pop up on TikTok and finally visited on a Sunday — definitely book in advance, it gets busy. The space itself is stunning, with earthy tones and gold accents, and unlike many brunch places, the tables aren’t crammed together — you can actually relax and enjoy your meal without feeling on top of others.
Service was a bit inconsistent; even with a booking, we waited to be seated, and multiple servers kept checking if we’d been served, which felt a little disorganised. The menu is Halal (no pork) but offers good variety. I had the cinnamon French toast, which was tasty but overly thick and a bit dry – the maple syrup and cream just weren’t enough for the portion size. My cousin’s scrambled eggs were oddly runny, and there was some confusion with her dairy allergy order, though staff corrected it quickly. She absolutely loved her blueberry matcha — said it was the best she’s had (and even I liked it, despite not being a matcha fan).
Plates sat on the table a bit too long after finishing, but a manager (I think) checked on us, took feedback seriously, and mentioned improvements were already being worked on.
Ambiance is chilled (though music was slightly loud). Overall, a beautiful venue, lovely drinks, decent food, but needs some refinement in both service and consistency to match its growing popularity. Would return, but hoping for smoother...
Read moreMe and my parents came here in the morning for breakfast - my mum ordered the shakshuka following my recommendation as I know that it is a dish that is typically overlooked in restaurants and would suit her palate well if properly prepared. She was very happy with and mentioned that the seasoning was really well done (all photos provided below) it looked absolutely mouth watering in my opinion 🤤 My dad ordered the full English with a side of buttered sourdough toast. He was very satisfied with the portion size and and overall quality of the ingredients. I, myself ordered the full Meaa, having ordered it before (this was my second time coming here). The portion was very large for the plate it was served on and it became a little difficult to eat without the food falling of the plate, however, the range of flavours and the quality of ingredients was top notch, managing to balance both sweet and savoury in a dish is difficult but it was done really well - I strongly encourage everyone to attempt it at least once. For me the highlight was the chicken sausages as they took me back to primary school when they used to serve sausages for lunch 😂 it was a very fond memory for me ❤️
If I were to give one fault, it would that it was too busy at the time we arrived and while we didn’t have to wait to be seated, it was very loud in the restaurant. I personally prefer a more intimate setting which this place...
