Really wanted to like this place, but there were too many things off about the vegetarian dishes we ordered for delivery.
Only the plus side: it's well priced, particularly the sides, given the portion sizes they gave us a free small salad, raita and pappadom each dish looked different the garlic mushrooms main looked good and tasted good, though the serving was no larger than the side dishes the naan was really good
But unfortunately: both the saag paneer and the mutter paneer were very sweet, which made the whole meal quite unpleasant there were only a few tiny cubes of paneer in both dishes, and they didn't have any taste the dhal tarka was very runny, though it tasted ok
No one else in the reviews seems to have had these issues, so maybe they were just having a bad night and...
Read moreThe Methi did not have a single free table when we arrived at 19:00. Great for business, but less good when you have a table booked for the same time. My perception was that service teetered on the very edge of chaos over the period of my visit. The phone was constantly ringing, vacant tables were left strewn with detritus, and at one point I believe the delivery driver was serving.
The vegetable samosa was what is technically termed dreadful in an MDF sort of way - I have tasted better from a supermarket. In fact it probably was from one. The mains were an improvement, the mea in the lamb jalfrezi was well cooked. Less welcome, the requested 'crispy' naan was more akin to a bulbous airbed.

The ordering process felt rushed but the same can't be said for the food which took a fair while to come out. The food itself was good, each dish was hot and well seasoned. On leaving the managers attempt at humour fell hollow on what was an otherwise uncomfortable dining experience.
