Having gone back the pub I can only imagine what was posted below was an off night. I went for the England Semi final and I have to say the service was outstanding plenty of bar staff on with quick service. Great atmosphere and friendly locals. Happy to recommend this pub to friends now and will be going back soon
have visited the pub a number of times and I have to say everytime it gets worse. I went for the football last night and the service was shocking! They were completely understaffed and the guy who I assume is the manager was extremely rude abrasive. Turned up at about quarter past 7 looking for a table to eat before the football to find that 2 tables had been reserved 45min earlier and no one had turned up. Instead of letting someone who actually wanted to use the table and order food it was left empty as “it’s reserved and everyone wants a table so you carnt use it” either have a policy to reserve a table or don’t.(this is the 3rd time I have tried to reserve one in the so called restaurant area and been unable to even if tables are empty) To add insult to injury we found a little corner we might be able to eat in only to be told the kitchen had stopped doing food at 19:30 and to come back 30 min later. After queuing for 20 minutes at the bar I was then again told to come back in 30min at which point we noticed the chef glass collecting so gave up and left. As someone who has run a pub for many years This is either a very poorly run pub or a work environment that is so bad it cannot hold onto staff! Will not be going there again which is a shame as it is the closest to where I live. If you want a midweek drink it is perfect as it empty during the week. But if you want a weekend pub...
Read moreThe drink service was fine, no complaints there. But the food was downright terrible. You can literally taste the frozeness in every bite. It’s clearly all pre-packaged and reheated, but somehow still managed to be overcooked, under-seasoned, and just plain inedible. Honestly, I couldn’t finish my meal. If you’re coming here, stick to the drinks and steer clear of the food.

Hi, I believe there’s been a mix-up. I haven’t visited your venue since around January, and that was the first and only time we attended. I didn’t place a takeaway order or visit on a Friday, so the situation you’re describing doesn’t involve me.
During our visit, we didn’t raise an issue directly, but when a lady from the kitchen came to clear our plates, she could tell we hadn’t enjoyed the meal and was very courteous and apologetic. She even kindly offered to bring us something else, which we appreciated. That said, the food tasted like frozen food and was poorly prepared, rubbery in parts and lacking flavor. Whether it was made on-site or not, that was the clear impression it left.
I’m happy to send a screenshot of my online banking to confirm the date of our visit if that helps clear up the confusion. My review is simply an honest reflection of...
Read moreThis review is for the Thai food only as the bar is excellent and James does all he can to accommodate meetings for the local food bank. It's also a good place to work during the day.
However, the Thai restaurant is under new management (2025) and Sai is no longer there. The menu is different and not as full -- no more papaya salad, sea bass, crab or fish, no shared platter, or summer rolls, tempura. Many of the starters we were used to having were gone, no udon either -- disappointing. Starters are ok but most served with ketchup and mayo (you would think ok, Sriracha or sweet chilli sauce at the very least!). The satay was also uninspiring. What's ok? the pad thais, we had different ones --with prawn, chicken, tofu - and the the calamari is pretty standard -- good enough but not as good as before. I am glad we can get Thai food so conveniently in Bounds Green and service is a lot quicker, but the new cooks have got some work to do to take...
