Really 4*: The sakura, donburi and nigiri are really tasty BUT from since Michiko Sushino jumped on the Deliveroo bandwagon, it has rapidly transformed from an intimate and attentive little restaurant to a glorified takeaway. The beleaguered staff are all focussed on the time critical delivery demands of Deliveroo. So delivery orders are prioritised.
I finally left without a meal having waited 55 minutes which is a ridiculous amount of time to wait in any restaurant. I've been forced to write this review as this tardiness is becoming a habit and as patrons we must speak up when good services turns bad!
But regrettably Deliveroo is not the only problem they have, they also appear to lack a service strategy and customer service is deteriorating. I was a lone diner and ordered one simple dish: sakura - basically sticky rice garnished with slices of raw fish. Yet they could not satisfy this within 55 minutes. When having waited 50 minutes, I complained to the supervisor at the till, he asked where I was sitting so he could check my order. Surely, there's something wrong if in a small restaurant in which I am the only single diner, he has not noticed where I am sitting. Except for two dishes of sushi served to two different groups, all dishes prepared by the chefs were Deliveroo orders. In plain sight you can see them packing it all and the drivers coming and going. A few customers came to collect. The poor waitering staff are fatigued, stressed and apologetic but it means they are inattentive. The two chefs are working at some speed, and it must be stressful for them that anytime they look up the see customers with empty table - because its all going to Deliveroo.
It is no wonder that Michiko Sushino has a high turnover of staff! The proprietress needs sort this out, especially to ease the stress of staff.
Anyway, the chefs do a great job and the supervisor prioritises deliveries so don't bother dine there just order to deliver or collect and you'll get your meal on time!...

Michiko Sushino has been on my ‘to eat next list’ for a long time and I finally made it last weekend .
Short crisp menu to choose from.
To begin with we ordered prawn and chicken gyozas . The prawn gyozas were total melt in mouth experience.
The food was outstanding. . The large Salmon set came with a mix of Uramaki, Nigiri , Shashimi & Maki . My fav though was the Hanabi ( prawn tempura Sushi) .I also loved the scallop sushi …
Another Interesting dish was the egg omelette Sushi… pretty good..
The Donburi was great too though I wanted something crispy in the bowl for some crunch ..
Started with Aki Gin & tonic … Roku gin & tonic with leaning grass infused ..: loved it
And we finished our meal with Sake .
It was a wholesome experience and I highly recommend Michiko Sushino to all . If you haven’t tried it yet or if you have then go again.
The Vibe of the place is super fun . Very attentive and friendly staff .. I had a great...
Read moreI am shocked and disapointed this space is rated 4.6 on Google. Red flags: Allergens are not listed correctly. One member of our party was coeliac and after we ordered several gluten free labeled items, we were informed the items were not gf and needed to be cancelled or modified 3 items ordered never appeared at the table but appeared on the bill We ordered a platter with 4 items not gf so instead received 15+ of the cheapest fish (salmon). Would have loved more than 2 pieces of tuna, scallop, etc instead of excess salmon. Asked for a discount and was denied. asked for water for the table several times and it never arrived.
It's a shame that we paid the 12.5% service charge because this was...
