Booked through the Fork website and got 30% off on the food bill. Comfortable and spacious seating. Friendly service. Food was good but I wasn't overly impressed by the flavour overall.
Before our meal, they served some complementary bread with olives and their house special avo hummus. I loved the hummus, it tasted very fresh. The bread was interesting though, it was more like a pizza dough baked with spices on top. It was delicious.
For starters, we ordered smoked aubergine ravioli and arancinis.
I wasn't a big fan of the ravioli as the pasta was a little too thick and tasted overcooked. The smoked aubergine filling was good, so more of these wrapped with a thinner pasta would be good. The ravioli sauce was quite thick and I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be a sauce or a cream soup? Flavour was good but again, not sure if this goes with the raviolis themselves.
The arancinis were served lukewarm and were small. Although the flavour and the crunch were there, I would've preferred them to be served hot with more meat fillings.
Coming onto the main course, we had the Mediterranean lamb shank and salmon.
I liked the lamb shank, though not exactly what I expected as it's more like a curry lamb shank. In general, the meat comes off the bone but not the parts closer to the bone. I loved the mashed potatoes! I don't know what they did but the texture was better than a standard mash. Overall a good dish.
The salmon was seasoned well and goes well with the refreshing sauce. I thought it may be slightly overcooked because the centre was not as tender as I like.
For some reason, they gave us a free tiramisu at the end which was a pleasant surprise! Thank you!
The meal experience was largely good. We were sat next to the bar area and it was very noisy at times when the bartender was making drinks.
Overall, I think it's a pretty good restaurant but I'm not sure I would pay full price to dine here. For me, the food has to be outstanding for this...

The service was generally very good but the atmosphere a little strange. Between 8pm and 10pm on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was, at its maximum, one quarter full. The music was initially quite loud, which, together with hard surfaces and a loud group of four nearby, made the noise quite unpleasant. Things improved to some extent, but it's not an especially relaxing room. It's also quite dark, even with the glass doors on the front side. The open kitchen was reasonably well-ventilated, but some grilling and frying smells drifted over.
The food was pretty good. The grilled lamb loin with 'healthy vegetables' wasn't quite as virtuous as it appeared, as the vegatables were ungenerous and there was a significant volume of unadvertised creamy sauce. It was well cooked, though, and the meat was decent enough. The chicken has unadvertised vegetables stuffed inside and was overcooked. The chips were disappointing - pale from undercooking, and underseasoned. The ultimate mezze was quite strange, in particular the cheese selection, which amongst others included two fruity English cheeses and what appeared to be marmite cheddar. They were incongruous with the rest of the mezze. The cured meat was not very nice, nor were the dolmades. All in all, despite the fancy plating and with the exception of the dips and bread, the mezze felt like an assembly of mediocre-quality supermarket ingredients.
After (politely) querying the thinking behind the cheese selection, the mezze was taken off the bill. We were also given a free dessert (which was good) and tea, because of our comically unstable table. To be fair to the staff, as soon as they noticed this, they offered to move us, which we declined.
I may return to try brunch offering, but would probably not go...
Read moreStylish restaurant, with accomplished deco. The dark blue ceiling doesn't make it oppressive due to the use of bold and bright colours and fabrics elsewhere. Classy but relaxed. More a 4.5*
They start you off with complimentary olives, bread and avocado humus, the latter particularly tasty. I had the tenderised grilled octopus as starter. Beatifully cooked and presented. Lamb loin fillet as a main, served on a bed of vegetables. Delicious, again perfectly cooked and presented and the sauce rich but not overpowering. A very accomplished dish. Dessert San Sebastian cake with warm chocolate, good but could have been better. I guess expectations were very high after the first two courses...
It was unexpectedly busy on a Monday evening end of last month, perhaps with people taking advantage of The Fork offer! The atmosphere is lively but allows for intimacy, and both groups and couples can feel very comfortable. The background music was good as well, not too loud to allow conversation without having to shout. As for service, it was super attentive and relaxed. All staff very welcoming and helpful. They definitely get a 5* from me.
In brief, lovely restaurant, with good quality food, beautifully cooked and presented. And the service is excellent. Highly...
