My recent meal at Ginger and Spices was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish, detail, and moment made it an unforgettable experience.

We started with poppadums, which were delightfully crunchy (no greasy after taste), paired with tasty dipping sauces. Next came the papdi chaat, my absolute favourite. This restaurant truly makes the best version I’ve ever had! The perfect mix of crispy, tangy, and sweet had me savoring every bite.

For starters, we really enjoyed our juicy lamb chops, two different prawn dishes and salmon, all cooked to perfection. Unlike other places that overcook seafood, here the salmon was flaky and moist, and the prawns were bursting with flavor.

Before the main course, the staff cleared our table and brought out heated plates, a small but actually a brilliant touch! Our food stayed warm throughout the meal, which made such a difference.

Then for mains we had biriyani, which surprised me because it came with biriyani sauce. This was delicious addition, I’d never seen before but absolutely loved! Also we had tarka daal and bhindi sabzi as veg options, both so flavourful and perfect with the freshly made naans (we tried multiple kinds—all soft and buttery).

The chicken korma was rich and aromatic, and the lamb rogan gosht was a standout. It was tender, a little bit spicy (I love spicy food), but balanced just right. I also tried coconut rice for the first time, and it’s now a must-order! The coconut flavor was distinct yet subtle, adding a lovely sweetness to the meal.

At the end, the staff provided us with wet hand wipe much needed after all that delicious food! and a complimentary chocolate, a thoughtful finishing touch that I don’t see as often at the restaurants.

The service was attentive, warm, and efficient, making the whole experience even better. From the food to the little details, everything was flawless. My family and I had the best time. I cannot recommend this...

Had dinner here yesterday, popping in on the off chance there was a table.

The restaurant was really busy, which is a great sign, but there might have been another reason for this.

We ordered our food and drink fairly quickly after arriving and the drinks turned up shortly after but then..... the wait on food was REALLY long!

We didn't receive our starter for about an hour and then the main was about another 45mins or so on top of that and we clearly weren't the only ones waiting ages for food.

Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious when it came out, but we wouldn't come here at a busy time again, as the kitchen clearly couldn't cope with all the orders.

I'm glad we tried this restaurant, but I wish the restaurant had warned us from the beginning about the wait, so we could have made our own decision about whether to stay or not.

The food took so long, that we got the bill after our mains and decided to get pudding from the local Sainsburys to take home: Not something we would normally do when we were having a date night. However, the thought of waiting that long for another course put us off.

I hope this is not a normal occurance for them, as it is definitely the sort of thing that puts me off returning to...

Best tikka masala I've ever eaten! Really yummy fresh food. Did not like the onion bajis - more flour than onion

A couple of pointers that I hope the owners will take on board is that the environment makes a huge difference to the dining experience no matter how good the food is - make sure music is playing all the time (the first half of the meal it was so quiet in the place we had to whisper so the whole place wouldn't hear our conversation), the decor needs more in the restaurant, there's only 2-3 art pieces and then very standard floor wall and ceiling which is disappointing. Paint the ceilings a dark colour or add more art work, the lighting is great and so is the bar area, maybe get some rugs? Some more ornaments, table runners? Anything to add colour to a very boring yet large space. Waiters need to communicate - got asked twice by two different waiters if my food was okay before I even took a bite as it they were trying to take over the table.

Will be ordering takeaway but not coming to the restaurant unless there is a major decor change. I guarantee you many people...

Updated: Overall the food is of a very high standard. We usually order the Kebabs and Alu Tikki Chaat for starters which are delicious. The Chilli Prawns are also very, very good! The staff are very friendly and offer good advice on menu selections. This is a new Indian restaurant and they have an attractive menu which is a little different as they like to add Spinach (palak) to alot of their dishes which they do wonderfully well. For mains, my wife's favourite is the Palak Gosht; the lamb is always very tender and the sauce good enough to lick clean! We thought their veggie dishes were particularly excellent. My main takeaway from visiting this restaurant several times now is their consistency. They never seem to have a bad day in the kitchen! We prefer North Indian or Punjabi restaurants but Ginger Spice do it better than most! This has become our favourite Indian restaurant without question. A must visit!

As a now regular to this restaurant, i would defoliate consider this the best Indian food in chislehurst. The papadams are delicate and crispy; served with a sweet yoghurt mint sauce, a jammy mango chutney and a small diced salad. The samosas are always steaming hot and have a thick layer of crisp pasty met with a explosion of spices and fluffy vegetables. They are always served with a pomegranate reduction sauce. The mixed grill is one is sensational. Perfectly cooked tandoori meats all enveloped with deep marinade and so tender. The soft shell crab was crispy, flavourful and buttery. It’s only downside was it tasted a tiny bit fishy. The lamb jalfrezi is large chunks of juicy lamb with a curry sauce that has immaculate flavour. Garlic chilli prawns are a staple at ginger and spices and in my opinion the beat item on the menu and the best prawns i have ever had. But be were; the are not mild

Wow... amazing food. It's simply fantastic.. I can't wait to eat here again. This place was rated 4.5 on Googlemaps when I was searching around.. it should be higher. The food was simply unbelievable.. the best Indian food that I've eaten. Well spiced, appropriately portioned, and the texture of the curry sauces (all three that we had.. yes, I made sure that I tried them all!) was as smooth as silk. Expect a West/Southwest (Goan / Keralan) India themed cuisine.. the food is fragrant and mild, with no particularly fiery hot curry options on the menu., but plenty of vegetarian, fish and vegan dishes in addition to those with meat. The service was quiet, polite and didn't feel rushed (ok, it was a Monday night)... and knew about our booking, literally welcoming us as we walked in the front door. Can't fault this restaurant at all.
