Went to this Nandos today with colleagues. My first thought was that it looked clean, spatious, and not so busy at first when I entered. Good lunch spot.
My colleagues placed an order, and they got their orders fine quite quickly. My order was placed at the same time, but my order was served late. I noticed every other customer coming in after being served their food quite quickly. I went up and asked the staff at the counter, having waited very patiently, and they said at the point of asking, "we're making it now, Beanie pittas take the longest to make." It's never taken that long at any other nandos I've been, and the fact they were only preparing it once i mentioned it shiws they were prioritising orders from all the customers first. I felt the attitude of the staff was unprofessional, well, at least towards me. No apologies at all when it arrived. She just served it on the table. She just seemed rude.
My colleagues even said I should have said something sooner, but I was willing to be patient and not the sort of person who kicks a fuss. Eventually, food did come, I couldn't fault the food that was good. Even when I ordered peri chips, I had to remind her that's what I ordered, not plain chips as was served. Then she comes over and starts sprinkling the powder, no apology.
My colleagues were initially keen to leave staff tips because that's what they do when they go out, but they said to me because of how your service has been, they wouldn't be doing that.
I don't think I'll ever visit this nandos again based on the attitude of staff and the service I received, which I'd rate as poor and the worst at any nandos I've ever visited.
The only positive polite staff member was the young lady that did take my order at the till she was very polite and smiled at least...
Read moreI came to Nando's today under the impression that I had an orange reward as stated in my apple wallet. I was ordering my meal and was instructed to scan my card. I scanned but the reward would not show up. The manager at the time (stated his name was Michy, or something that sounded quite similar) said that my reward has probably expired, which I do not believe was the case as it has only been showing as a reward for a number of weeks. I asked if he could manually apply the reward, or equivalent by taking the price off of my 1/2 chicken. He would not do this and I repeatedly asked if he could. I said as a customer I am entitled to my reward as I have been advertised one, but he stated this was not the case, which is incorrect. The Advertising Standards Authority will be contacted regarding this as I have been misled by Nando's, and the manager was very unhelpful. I am aware that managers can manually adjust prices, but Michy refused and asked me to "show him how to do it". I think that is unacceptable behaviour from a manager, and his customer service skills were non existent. Read moreThis is not my first bad experience with this particular nandos. I ordered through deliveroo and my order came cold, burnt and with missing items. The missing items was a nandino’s order for my child. I called up nandos who told me to call deliveroo. I was on the phone to both deliveroo and nandos trying to get my order resent. And both told me they were unable to do so. I think nandos should look into having drivers strictly for them and not use an outside company as when an order goes wrong you either have to collect it yourself as they can’t send it out again or complain through deliveroo which gets you nowhere. I’ve also had an issue where my order got sent to another address and they had me come out my house heavily pregnant to collect my order! The staff seem very incompetent and my order comes rarely spot on. Meaning hot and not burnt & no missing items. I say it’s better to eat in than takeaway from that particular nandos or call up to make sure you orders come delivered to you...
