Whenever I decide to eat something unhealthy, I’d always like to make it worth the “risk” and effort, so I’d always appreciate eating from somewhere which offers big and juicy burgers. Therefore, with that in mind, I decided to go and take a look to see what this place has to offer.
Before getting to the food, I found that the establishment seemed somewhat bare in the sense of how it’s all presented once you get inside the building itself. Perhaps it may be decorated more as time goes by, but it seems like a warehouse with some food stands - a bit like garages - a big screen TV and some bars. Quite a few of the food stands were still empty or closed, so I’m also guessing that more food merchants will take up a spot at some point in time.
As I fancied a burger, I decided to visit ‘Nanny Bill’s’ establishment.
I was expecting the food to be pricey, as most places these days are. I ordered the bacon double cheeseburger, salted fries and a can of Coca Cola. To be honest, I was expecting to spend maybe £10 (or something quite close), but my whole bill for that came to £15; I thought this was a bit much. The menu board advertised some dipping sauces for about 45p (if I can remember correctly), but I was offered a sauce for free with my meal.
The food didn’t take that long to prepare, and the staff seemed very friendly.
I quite enjoyed the food, and it was what I was expecting. My girlfriend had ordered food from another food stall. Unfortunately I cannot remember which one it was, but I was quite impressed with her food too, after trying some small samples.
Overall, I think something like this fits into that market of appealing to tourists and visitors of Wembley Stadium and the arena, as they are situated within walking distance. With the amount of people that visit these venues during an event, it only makes sense to install even more food options. And with visitors being hungry straight before or after an event, they don’t really have that opportunity to go elsewhere and find something a little cheaper, so it’s almost as if they have no choice.
From a business standpoint, a place like this is a very good idea, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you are in the area and just fancy a bite to eat. Whilst I did enjoy my visit, it’s not a place I would go out of my way to visit regularly; mainly due to the fact that a meal for one person can be quite expensive! But that is...
Read moreLazy staff and service on the 07/08/25 at the box park Wembly. We ordered their signature burger with dipping gravy. The young girl who took the order was friendly and great, clearly on her first day at this branch and being trained how to use the till. After 15 mins of waiting near by with our buzzer, I went back to check on my order! To my surprise, no one was on the till and the manager had gone on a break and left the young girl on her own.
She was now in the kitchen, clearly struggling to work out how the orders were supposed to be put together. The chef on duty, instead of helping was standing with his feet on the side on his mobile phone doom scrolling!
With about 6 orders on, no one on the till and the chef on his mobile phone and the manager on a break, the young girl who was handling payments and the till, was now trying to wrap up the burgers and operate a deep fat fryer in an attempt to get the food out, that she clearly had no training on.
As we had been waiting sometimes, I spoke up loudly to get the chefs attention and told him to put his phone down and sort the food out, so the young girl could get back on the till. After giving me an evil eye, he unwillingly put his phone down and reluctantly started to plate up the food.
The food he plated up was not good. The fries were fine, but the meat in the burger tasted bloody and gamey (not in a pleasant way) and the patties were unseasoned and lacked what is expected of a good burger. The gravy was also just powdered stock base, not particularly nice and also lacked seasoning. Overall a disappointing mess.
For the poor management, lazy chef and low quality offering, I cannot recommend Nanny...
Read moreI recently ordered a delivery from them, having read good reviews on Deliveroo. They were supposed to be a premium burger place (I.e. like GBK or Honest Burger), so was very much looking forward to tucking into a very tasty burger. Oh how disappointed I was. Now the delivery time was quick I must say, and the food well packaged. However those are what I consider to be basic requirements. The fries were warm and crunchy, & I swear I could taste a hint of Rosemary in them. The small tub of gravy on the side was a welcome addition. However the The Bacon Double Cheeseburger which was supposed to blow me away was mediocre at best, in-fact i'd say it was no better than your McDonald's or Burger King but twice as expensive. The patties inside were not thick and juicy, instead they were dry and thin. Instead of my taste buds being treated to a variety of herbs and spices combining into the perfect blend combined with premium beef mince, what I got was two tasteless patties devoid of all flavour. The processed cheese inside was quite frankly horrible, and the "smoky bacon" tasted anything but smoked. I could describe the bacon as deffo being on the cheap side, worse than a supermarket own brand. It offered no saving grace to this "burger." I would go as far as to say the £6.50 I paid for a bacon cheese burger from a van outside the stadium on Sat, with fried onions, was much more tasty. Even the bacon (from a pig not a turkey) was of a better quality. All in all I would say it's overpriced and to avoid. Maybe the central London ones are better, the standard of this outlet is clearly low, & maybe that's because the customers round there have no...
