I agree with some of the other reviewers. Nice cosy restaurant. Small. I have been a few times for lunch and dinner. Staff are friendly and pleasant but tell lies with regards to reservations. Service is good. Clean. Very small and limited menu but there is a nice variety. If you follow a vegan diet, don't bother. Basically, choose your pasta, sauce and cheese if you want it, then order! They have starters, desserts and a few other items. If you do go, I suggest having the pasta as this is what they are known for. I have tried a few different pasta dishes. All were nice. Don't expect to be blown away by an authentic Italian experience, but the pasta is good and comforting. Portion size is small and they can be stingy with the sauce. Size is fine for me as I have a small appetite but others may beg to differ. Good food, but lacks depth and flavour, like something you could make at home. Very reasonably priced. Well-presented and freshly made. I do however think that the drinks menu is very expensive. There is indoor and outdoor seating with heaters in the colder months. My biggest issue is they annoyingly always tell you especially in the evening that all tables are reserved inside. I don't believe this. Yesterday I went at around 19:40 and it was totally empty inside except 2 full tables. Myself and other walk-in guests had to sit outside in the cold. Throughout the one hour I was there, not one of these 'apparent' reservations turned up. Total joke. The inside remained empty. Staff were happy to let guests sit outside and freeze. 19:00 to 21:00 is surely peak dining time. I left and walked past a little later and it was still empty inside. Whilst I was there, I 'tried' to make a reservation online to see and it showed availability inside to make a reservation. Why did it allow me to do this? I am not sure why they do this, but it is unfair. The staff are telling lies. I have never seen the restaurant fully busy. Also, if there were these apparent reservations, staff could use their common sense and have let me and another solo diner sit inside. Solo diners tend to eat quickly. In that whole hour at peak dinner time, not one reservation showed up. I also noticed when other walk-in guests came, they told some they were booked inside and others were told, 'let me check, I think we are fully booked.' You are not allowed to discriminate and pick and choose who can sit where. Surely there is a law against this? I have a good mind...
Read moreI just had an extremely disappointing experience with Pasta Remoli. After waiting for two hours for my delivery, I still did not have a delivery person assigned. As it got too late in the night, I decided to cancel my order.
I had not been contacted by the restaurant regarding the delay, so I called them, but no one picked up. I then reached out to the delivery company to request a cancellation, but they informed me that since the restaurant had already prepared the food, I would be charged, even though no food was delivered!
I called the restaurant again, and this time, someone finally picked up. I explained the situation, but the customer service was appalling. The representative repeatedly stated that it wasn't their fault and that they couldn't cancel the order because they would lose money since the food was already prepared.
As a restaurant manager with 20 years of experience, I can confidently say that this is the wrong way to handle such a situation. They were dealing with a regular customer and should have canceled the order. After all, the food could have been eaten by the staff, and it wouldn't be the first time a restaurant had some food waste. What they should not have done is leave me feeling helpless and frustrated with no food or even an assurance of food being delivered soon and still charged me for it.
Absolutely ridiculous and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have lost a regular customer, and I am sharing this so hopefully, they get better staff.
At this moment, I still haven’t received the order. By the time I get it (if I get it), it will obviously be cold, as they themselves told me it had been ready and waiting for so long. It is now way past dinner time. I would like to go to sleep, but I can't even do that because I'm afraid they’ll ring the bell and wake up the rest of the household. So, I have no choice but to wait for them at whatever time they arrive (if they ever arrive), all because the restaurant denied my persistent request to cancel the order…
Shameful and incredibly...
Read morePasta Remoli has been at my doorstep for a while and I was intrigued as to the dishes it offered. Today, I finally decided to treat myself for a solo valentine's dinner and I am now sure it will be a new go-to spot for the best of the best Italian food.
My reservation request was made on short notice, but the restaurant accommodated me anyway which was much appreciated. My seating was outside and I was also shown where the heated areas were, also being offered a blanket. The staff were incredibly kind with making recommendations and providing me with information about the quality and sourcing of their ingredients. The pride of being an authentic restaurant with ingredients and recipes from Rome was clear - and rightly so!
For the starters I was recommended the in-house baked focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was brushed with a light garlic butter glaze and was crisp, using only the most authentic flour imported from Rome.
For my main I chose to eat their homemade basil pesto with whole-wheat pasta topped with pecorino cheese.
The sauce was divine, how glad I was there was some remaining after I had finished the pasta so that I could dip the rest of the focaccia in it. Wonderfully tangy but light, this dish cannot be missed!
As a side I was recommended the garlic and rosemary potatoes baked with olive oil and sea salt. Another item that could be dipped and enjoyed with the basil pesto sauce, I am glad I did opt for this instead of mere fries! There's always room for dessert, and rather than opting for the usual tiramisu, I tried their peanut and salted caramel cheesecake. This dessert was not too sweet at all, but the cream cheese and chocolate base that was akin to the texture of a brownie, paired so well with the salted caramel sauce and light peanut flavour.
I will be bringing my friends and family here for another visit definitely. The staff's hard work and hospitality did not go unnoticed! Thank...
