We were on the hunt for an authentic Nepalese restaurant in London, and I’m so glad we found Newa Che. Being from Nepal myself, I can confidently say that while Nepalese and Indian cuisines share some similarities, there are distinct differences, and many so-called Nepalese restaurants in the UK often lean too heavily into Indian flavours. Not this one. Newa Che nailed it when it comes to authenticity. Every dish we tried had that true Nepalese essence – the spices, the texture, and the presentation all felt familiar in the best possible way. I brought a few of my friends along after hearing a lot of buzz within the Nepalese community, and we were all genuinely impressed. The food was not only delicious but also freshly prepared, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised to receive some discounts and freebies, which made the experience even better. It’s rare to find such great value in London. The manager was warm, polite, and welcoming, making us feel truly valued as customers. Although the place looks small from the outside, once you step in, it opens up into a surprisingly spacious and cosy setting. The bar area adds a nice touch with its relaxed, local pub vibe, creating the perfect mix of comfort and culture. Without a doubt, we’ll be going back. Whether you’re Nepalese and missing a taste of home or simply someone who wants to try authentic Nepalese cuisine, I would highly recommend...
Read moreWe had a craving for authentic Nepali taste, and we truly found it at Newa Che. The food was delicious, the service was quick, and the warm, familiar Nepali hospitality made the experience complete. What made it even more special was the personal attention from Kapil Dai. His friendly and welcoming nature gave us that homely feeling, even while being far from home.
While traveling in London for a holiday from Norway, we also visited one of the well known Nepali restaurants near Kent, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations. That experience made us appreciate Newa Che even more: genuine taste, heartfelt service, and a place that truly feels like home. Strongly recommended for all of you who are craving authentic Nepali flavors. If you live around London and haven’t been to Newa Che yet, just go and taste the food, you won’t be disappointed. And if you’re traveling to London from another country, make sure to book a dinner there for at least one evening. I bet you’ll find yourself...
Read moreDespite reservation, we were given the table that was wobbly (there were other empty tables!) so not very pleased there. Food was okay although on comparison better than other nepalese restaurant. Nepali delicacies like momos and chowmein are upto the par but disappointed with the veg thali set(very ordinary for an expensive price) and the simple chatpate had less ingredients maybe I was expecting it to be wholesome. Their selroti is the best! Service was good and friendly. Not all menus are great tasting but I would still recommend to try especially nepali dishes except for the thali set; sorry to say this but it was bland and unadventurous, came with 1 curry, lazily cooked fried potatoes, saag or, pakchoi cooked in mustard oil, daal was good, burnt papad, hence I'm rating...
