I recently had the pleasure of visiting "Syd’s Pizzeria and Coffee Shop" in West Harrow Park, and it was an experience that left me thoroughly impressed. Not only does this café offer easy parking and a charming setting, but it also has a unique feature that sets it apart from other eateries in the area—exercise machines right next to the café! So, you can burn off those delicious calories right after indulging.
Syd’s offers both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing you to choose between a cosy interior or enjoying your meal amidst the scenic beauty of the park. The outdoor seating is particularly pleasant, making it a perfect spot for a sunny day.
The menu at Syd’s is diverse and satisfying. From their mouth-watering pizzas and crispy wings to fresh sandwiches, there’s something for everyone. I started my visit with a cup of their freshly brewed coffee, which paired perfectly with a flaky, warm pastry. Later, I indulged in one of their pizzas, which featured a thin, crispy crust and fresh toppings that were bursting with flavour. The wings were equally delightful—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with a variety of delicious sauces. It’s also great to see that they offer halal options, catering to a wide range of dietary needs.
The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure I had everything I needed. They were quick to accommodate any requests and made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.
What really adds a fun twist to Syd’s is the availability of exercise machines right next to the café. It’s a great way to work off some of what you’ve just enjoyed, turning a meal into a well-rounded outing. Whether you choose to use the machines before or after your meal, it’s a fantastic option for those who like to stay active.
Overall, "Syd’s Pizzeria and Coffee Shop" in West Harrow Park offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience. With a great selection of food and drinks, excellent service, and the bonus of nearby exercise machines, it’s a place where you can indulge and stay fit all in one visit. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable café experience...
Read moreGreat Location and Coffee, But Service and Quality Need Improvement Positives: Perfect location within the park, ideal for a relaxing break. Great coffee, one of the highlights of the visit.
Areas for improvement: Opening Hours: I've been visiting this park for some time now, and I've often found the café closed, leading me to believe it was shut down. It turns out I was simply arriving before opening hours, but the information is posted inside the shutters, making it impossible to see. It would be helpful if they opened earlier on weekends, perhaps between 8-9am, and made the opening hours visible from the outside. Preparedness: The kitchen should be ready at opening time. My pizza was delayed because no one had turned on the oven in advance. Despite them already being open 30mins Cleanliness: There was litter around the outdoor seating area, likely from the previous day. A quick cleanup when opening would make a big difference. Attitude Towards Kids: The ‘welcome’ sign feels undercut by a ‘no fun’ (ball/bicycle etc) sign. It seems contradictory, and their policy of banning bikes and scooters doesn’t seem fair when staff members park their motor scooters on the park paths. Syd needs to remove it as it’s unnecessary. Ingredient Transparency: We ordered a Margherita pizza, but it turned out to be spicy, possibly cooked in chili oil. The menu didn’t indicate that it was spicy, otherwise, I wouldn’t have ordered it. Clear labeling would be appreciated. Pastry Quality: The pastries, particularly the croissant, looked underwhelming and appeared undercooked. I'd suggest sourcing higher-quality baked goods and perhaps adjusting prices accordingly for a better overall experience. Quality of children’s drinks: they had a range of sugary junk drinks including ‘monkey tree’ smoothie which is just not good. They need some pure/organic type drinks for children. Pricing - they charged me £15.30 for a late and a margarita pizza. Im sure their pizza was £10 which means their late was either £5.30 or they...
