I recently booked a table for seven under the name of Adam K 17/06 at Nus-Ret Steakhouse in Knightsbridge, London. Having had an incredible experience at their Istanbul branch, I decided to give this location a try despite my initial hesitations from mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, my experience was a complete disappointment from start to finish.
Booking and Arrival: The booking process required me to confirm the reservation with card details, which was a first for me but not a major issue. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly doorman, who was arguably the highlight of our customer service experience. His politeness and professionalism set high expectations for the evening that were quickly shattered.
Service: Once inside, the service went downhill. Despite having booked ahead, our table was not ready, and we had to wait. The waiter who eventually attended to us was unwelcoming and seemed disinterested in providing any meaningful recommendations. When asked for suggestions, we were rather dismissively told that the Nusret special burger "would be better suited for us."
Food Quality: The quality of the food was horrific. Most of our group ordered the Nusret special burger, expecting a culinary delight. Instead, we were served bland, rubbery burgers with an off-putting smell. The truffle flavor, which should have been a highlight, was almost nonexistent compared to other places I've been to in central London.
To make matters worse, one of the burgers fell while being served. The waiter promised to redo it, and within four minutes, a new burger was brought out. The speed was suspiciously quick, and upon inspection, the bun was burnt. When we pointed this out to the head server, he took it away without so much as an apology. I asked the waiter about the lack of an apology, and his sharp response was simply, "I'll remake it." At this point, my friend was put off and chose not to wait for another replacement.
I even tried to take a picture of my burnt burger to document the issue, but the waiter swiftly moved the plate away, preventing me from doing so. This action felt dismissive and added to the frustration of the experience.
Dessert: Hoping to salvage the meal with dessert, we ordered the famous baklava. This, too, was a disaster. It was served with no enthusiasm or effort, looking as though it had been sliced by a toddler. When we asked if it was always presented this way, the server curtly responded, "I cut it however. If you don’t like it, I can take it away." The baklava ended up looking like a pile of mashed pastry with ice cream.
As we left, not a single person, including the manager, asked if we were satisfied with our meal. This lack of concern for customer satisfaction was the final straw. In conclusion, Nus-Ret Steakhouse in Knightsbridge is not worth the hype or the high prices. The customer service is atrocious, the meat is subpar, and the only seasoning you’ll find is the overhyped salt from Salt Bae’s branding.
If management wants to query the authenticity of this review, feel free to reach out to me on the number I used to make the reservation. I am genuinely interested in hearing their response. Save your money and...

Rubbish food, rubbish service, overrated place. Waited over 30 mins for starters to come out and they were really bad- got the sushi and caesar salad. Burger was decent, nothing special, got too tired of waiting 25 mins for dessert and left. May as well have burnt 90£- horrible. Asked for sparkling water, got still water. Service appalling, didn’t go in dressed up and their service for you just drops. Awful experience, so many better places
I initially asked for sparkling water, still was brought- not normally an issue because mistakes happen, you know. I then asked for the lunch menu 2 times and nobody brought me anything. I then asked a third time, when it was finally brought to me. I ordered with a nice gentleman, who was helpful, but then waited 25 minutes for starters.
The starters were rubbish, sushi wasn’t nice at all, tasted off and not like any sushi we’ve had at any top japanese restaurants, or nusret before. Caesar salad- i’m sorry, leaves were yellow, 2 bits of cheese, presentation horrible. This is nusret, supposed ‘luxury dining’ in London. So disappointing.
Then, I order 2 burgers. Meat was nice, nothing special, but it’s a burger at the end of the day! Lovely fries, but why have i got steak knives to try and eat my fries with… Service was appalling. Utterly embarrasing. I wasn’t dressed up, we were on a casual lunch experience, wanted to try out this lunch menu. I felt the way i was dressed impacted the way i was served.
Finally, dessert… ridiculous. I waited a further 15-20 mins for my dessert. This is not usually an issue, but, it become an issue when all other groups of people around me, who mind you, ordered the same lunch menu, finished before me, and they got their desserts first!! What is this service. Your staff are practically begging for tips. It’s so obvious and disgraceful. I was so annoyed and left before i even had my dessert, after expressing my grievance. Nobody even questioned it, brought me the bill, and that was that! I’ve worked in hospitality before, this is not how you ever keep customers.
Rest assured I am telling you this to help you improve, and under no circumstances will i ever be dining at such an overrated, overpriced place like Nusret again. I hope you change for your own sake, because i’m not the only person that thinks this. Many of my friends have said the same about your dining experience, the general consensus being ‘food is overpriced and the service is rubbish.’
You need staff who make the food price justifiable. Nobody goes and spends this much money on the food, they go and expect to be treated with the bare minimum of respect and have a truly unique experience. Do not judge a book by its cover, treat all...

I took my husband to Salt Bae for his birthday dinner. It was a spontaneous evening stop with no booking after a sudden change of plan from our original idea to try the £39 lunch offer.
To my surprise, it felt as if I had privately reserved the entire restaurant for the occasion - there were very few guests in a vast space staffed by an army of servers.
That said, the service was warm and attentive throughout, and the Bulgarian members of staff in particular and the doorman, made me feel truly welcome — their care and friendliness added a lovely personal touch to the evening. If I’m giving the restaurant a generous star rating, it’s only due to them.
The food was certainly enjoyable, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype — or the price tag. I believe it might be fair value for the £39 lunch experience.
The starter we shared – beef carpaccio - was well presented, sliced and served tableside, but to me, it lacked the nuanced flavour layering I’ve enjoyed in far less expensive places. The portion, however, was generous enough to pass for a main. Then we both had burgers, which were delicious, but the chips were a bit too peppery and on the chilli side. Again, the portions were very generous. Surprisingly, the sauces came in supermarket jars while I was expecting something house-made.
The restaurant’s famed chef wasn’t available. So, the food wasn’t cooked by him — yet the prices remained sky-high as if he had. It felt a bit like being charged for a senior stylist at a salon only to be styled by a junior. I understand that recipes, branding, and reputation carry weight, but when the chef is the brand, their absence inevitably raises questions — especially when the bill suggests otherwise.
Do not take me wrong! I admire people who can sell their craft at a high price. Hats off to Nusret for turning steak and salt into a global brand. But when you charge this much, every detail is magnified — and not all stand up to the scrutiny. Things we’d easily overlook in a more modest restaurant are hard to ignore at a high-end place.
Therefore, unfortunately, we’ll remember the dishes more for their price tags rather than for their flavours. Sorry to say that, but in this context, they just weren’t wowsers. Would I...
