Nestled in the heart of Peckham lies a true hidden gem: Oi Spaghetti. Despite my initial skepticism—after all, every eatery claims to be the “best”—I was about to embark on a dining experience that would prove those words true.
The approach to Oi Spaghetti is charming, with the cabin-like exterior warmly lit and inviting. The ambiance immediately sets the stage for an intimate and memorable meal.
Upon entering, we were greeted by Francesco, the host and chef, who shared an intriguing detail: he cooks live on air, with viewers watching as he prepares and serves each dish. This added a unique and personal touch to the evening, transforming it into more than just a meal.
With seating limited to just three or four tables inside, the setting was wonderfully intimate. We chose to sit indoors, allowing us to watch Francesco effortlessly orchestrate the kitchen and engage with both the diners and his online audience. Despite the potential for pressure, Francesco’s grace and ease were evident, creating a seamless and engaging experience for everyone present.
And then, the food. Oh, the food! From the very first bite, it was clear that this was no ordinary dining experience. The spaghetti was cooked to absolute perfection—undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had. Over the course of three courses, including an array of starters, two main pasta dishes, and a sublime tiramisu, each dish surpassed the last, showcasing Francesco’s exceptional culinary skills.
This wasn’t just a dinner; it was an experience that underscored how the simplest pleasures often make for the most memorable evenings. I left Oi Spaghetti with a full heart and a newfound appreciation for the art of dining.
Thank you, Francesco, for an unforgettable evening filled with extraordinary food and warm hospitality. I eagerly look forward to more...
Read moreFrancescocello’s tiramisu isn’t just dessert—it’s a creamy, velvety sin in a cup. One bite and you’re moaning louder than your upstairs neighbors on a Friday night. It’s got that melt-in-the-mouth magic that makes you question why you ever settled for supermarket pudding. 🍮💦
And the man himself? An absolute legend. Wholesome, charming, and lowkey dangerous with a whisk. His spaghetti isn’t just pasta—it’s pasta foreplay. Every forkful is like a seductive tango in your mouth. And that anchovy invention? So bold, so salty, it slaps harder than your Italian nonna when you say you don’t want seconds. 🐟🍝
He’s not just feeding you. He’s flirting with your taste buds and leaving you begging for a second round. Francescocello’s food should come with a “do not operate heavy machinery after eating” warning. Because you will be dazed, confused, and in love. 💘This place is straight-up kurvwalious magic, bruv. Hidden deep in the London hood, like the last juicy wing at a family BBQ. I was supposed to catch a flight to Peckham—in Jamaica fam, not SE15—but honestly? I wanted to stuff Francescocello in my suitcase and take him with me. That tiramisu changed my life. I ain't felt love like that since secondary school.
And real talk—I'm getting married. 💍 Tragic, I know. But Francescocello? He’s my only real friend. Met him once. One time. That’s all it took. A brief encounter, yet it hit harder than heartbreak in a Stormzy track. Man had me rethinking my whole guest list. “Mum, forget the cousins—Francescocello’s coming.”
The man’s got that energy. That “I make pasta and fix lives” aura. He’s the kind of guy who’d give you a hug and a lasagna if you cried. Big up to him and his creamy, dreamy...
Read more'Oi Spaghetti' is a vision executed with skill, passion and perfection. Located in a Peckham trade park, this unassuming location is one you may walk past while seeking (as we did), the warm red light beckoned as my wife and I approached the small eatery and it was a peek into the cabin that confirmed that we were indeed in the right place. We saw Chef Francesco prepping his ingredients for the evening in an intimate space, with cameras streaming the action to his foodie audiance, live from myriad angles.
Upon noticing our arrival Francesco greeted us warmly and paid close attention to us, treating us more like dinner party guests than patrons. We were sat mere feet from his action station in the kitchen, with a great view of everything he did. Francesco talked us through the menu, discussing it in great detail and explaining his Milenese background and inspirations- truly an intimate atmosphere.
We got three courses, the cavolo Nero fritter, two spaghetti mains and the tiramisu; the fritter was a fantastic appetiser that really got saliva glands going, both pasta dishes were top tier (I would very much recommend the bacon and kale) and while I really haven't got a sweet tooth, I thought the tiramisu worthy of a beautiful death for.
Thank you, Francesco- you made us feel warm, welcome and unique.
10/10, easily my best dining experience this year (I wrote this on the...
