Updated review after my five star review a couple of years ago.
My wife, two kids & I popped in on Sunday 21st April, after hopping off the train. Sadly, our experience of this restaurant has slipped significantly since our last visit.
Service: when we asked to be seated, the nice young lady ushered us to the dark corner right next to the toilet, even though there was a nicer table available elsewhere. We had to request to go to the nicer table, which was odd, though assume those with kids get put in the naughty corner? I had to ask for more napkins twice, as it seems they only want to give you one napkin each, which feels a bit tight considering the price and it's a burger joint?!. I also noted that our table was not cleaned to a good standard. I had a big chunk of something grim attached to the side of the table where I was sitting. I wasn't going to ask for it to be cleaned again, as it seemed petty. Then the wait after ordering was terrible. There were so many home delivery orders that diners in the restaurant appeared to be second priority to constant huddle of riders staring in through the side door (I'll get to that again in a moment). There only appeared to be one cook, which seemed to be the bottleneck to me. Eventually, with our kids getting pretty cranky as bored and hungry. I went up to ask what was happening with our order as it seemed to be taking forever, even though there was tons of food coming out of the kitchen for home delivery. Nice young lady then spoke to I think the manager, and was told another 5 to 10 minute wait, which may not seem that long. Though was actually excessive considering how long we had been waiting already.
Food: When the food finally arrived, kids were happy with their offerings. My wife & I chose the local Peckham burger, which I cannot remember the name of the collaboration. Though read on the menu as delicious mexican inspired with punchy flavours. Our burgers were sadly really bland, and I am pretty sure there were elements missing, or in such small volume that you couldn't taste it (e.g. didn't happen across any jalapenos?). The matchstick fries, we're nice and crunchy, though greasy and waaay too salty to enjoy.
Atmosphere: the table which appeared to be better than the one near the loo, actually wasn't so great either. With the constant stream of home deliveries, and me sat next to the side glass door entrance. I pretty much constantly had at a least 2 deliveroo riders gawping at the side of my head throughout the meal. Also, the door was constantly being opened to discuss and handover home deliveries. Adding an un-welcome chill to our table. Generally the whole restaurant is messy, tired and not a welcoming space any more. The loo is pretty grim too, feels like one you don't want to touch anything in.
Not a great experience, wasn't cheap for what we got. Unlikely we will return which is a shame, as it used to be...
Read moreCame here on a random visit a few weeks back and totally enjoyed it!! I’ve been to this branch once a few years back and didn’t really enjoy it, but definitely glad I went back. We were served by a bubbly and up beat waitress named KEEJI, she absolutely made our night enjoyable!! Great customer service! Great attention to detail when speaking on the menu! Sadly the burger was a bit burnt on the edges but it was ok. We also ordered some Duppy White Ting… kinda nice!! Although the burger was a little burnt, I’d definitely give this branch a strong 4 star, I will be back and good customer service will not be able to save the chef! Lol
LASTEST REVIEW MAY 2024…. Sadly google doesn’t allow multiple reviews… visited my local honest burger and sadly it wasn’t the greatest food wise. The burger edges has a charcoal taste to it and the chips were very hard and hurt my mouth, I told the waitress and the manager acted promptly to rectify it. However by the time the chips came we’d finished eating and they were exactly the same as before, so we took them home after going McDs
Also the atmosphere seemed very dull and and everyone just seemed “ok” and not really enthusiastic about their service… Where’s KEEJI?
Sadly y’all have to lose some ratings today.. 😔
LATEST REVIEW OCTOBER 2025
Came here today for a quick lunch with my sister and was given a nice friendly welcome, we were seated and ordered the “Chicken-Big Bacon” with those tasty rosemary fries. The waitress informed us that by downloading the app will accumulate points as well as a free side of onion rings today.
It was about 1:00, it was quiet so the food didn’t take long. The presentation was good and the burger was delicious!! The pork/bacon slices were sweet and delicious!! We were definitely happy!! We also got the onion rings that were nice too.
I did ask the manager the name of the waitress who served us, but I have totally forgotten 🤦🏾 it began with a “G” and she was very good!!! 👍🏾 Definitely gained your...
Read moreAn Honest Review: The first time I went to this restaurant I didn't have the best experience. Nought to do with the food or staff or the restaurant itself. It's just I didn't judge the amount of time I needed there...yes, I was trying to gobble down one of the world's best burgers while trying to make a cinema screening. Silly moi. Last night I went again, however, there was no screening to chase after and for that reason, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We arrived at a slightly-later-evening time (try 40 mins before closing) but that didn't throw a curveball at the staff. Sometimes you turn up at a restaurant quite late and they're reluctant to sit you down yelling, "TAKE AWAY ONLY!" but the staff here were more than accommodating. I had tried the Chicken burger before, which was SO GOOD, so this time as I was feeling a little saucy (pun absolutely intended) I went for the beef burger. This was accompanied with a tall bottle of Karma Cola, if you don't know what this is then what are you doing with your life? Then struck 11pm i.e. closing time i.e. get-outta-our-restaurant time but the awesome member of staff simply popped over and explained, "We're cleaning up, as we do, so feel free to enjoy the food, you don't have to rush." Just wow. Over the years I've found that a restaurant is less to do with the food and more about the overall experience (be that the staff politeness, the lighting or even how well-kept the restrooms are) and this was an experience...
