Parkside Cafe — Restaurant in London

Local cafe with reasonably pleasant roadside view. Clean, basic and nice.

The tea isn't brilliant, it's that cheap premade slop that they squirt hot water into rather than boiling water and using a fresh tea bag, or leaves; I forgot to order hot chocolate or coffee (which is usually a safer bet): I often find that, in these kinds of cafes, the hot drinks are nothing to write home about and are made as cheaply as they can get away with - so tea bags are reused several times, which of course makes the taste of the tea stronger and more 'tanin' like which, some may actually prefer.

The bacon sarnie I had was ok, no butter, only marge - with the taste of the bacon hidden by the huge slices of bread.

Don't get me wrong - it's not bad here... it's exactly what you'd expect from a cheap and...

I have been using this great, old fashioned ‘greasy spoon’ style cafe for several years. It serves freshly cooked breakfasts. Choose from eggs, bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.. A mug of builders’ tea or instant coffee. No quinoa, smashed avocado nor pumpkin spiced lattes here. Lunches of chicken curry, spaghetti bolognese or chilli con carne are also available. All is reasonably priced and clean. The service is friendly...

Fab 'old school' Café run by a friendly, pleasant team and serving delicious breakfasts and a wide selection of lunches. Their 'number 2' breakfast was very tasty, and very reasonably priced.
