Had the most absurd encounter at the cafe last week. I was there having lunch with a friend and our children. When ordering I asked for a glass of water. The woman serving me went to get me the water a picked up a plastic cup (the type you find at a water cooler). I asked if rather than have my water in a disposable, plastic cup, please could I have it on one of the glasses I could see behind her on the shelf. She said I couldn’t and that the glass I wanted was only to be used for alcohol, it was a regular tumbler, not a wine or whisky glass, a totally usual water glass. When I objected again to the plastic cup she said I could have my water out a mug...I explained that I didn’t want it out of plastic that would end up in landfill for hundreds of year or a mug, which is not a very enjoyable way to drink water, I waste a glass. She said it was their policy and that I couldn’t, I asked to speak to the manager as I though this to be ludicrous. She said she was the duty manager and there was nothing she could do about it. In the mean time one of her colleagues, a man in his late teens/early twenties started interjecting and said I was being ridiculous, he was being really aggressive. I was so shocked and told him that he probably has more time left on this planet than I do to life through the consequences of global warming and he should be more concerned about plastic waste than me! That being said I do have small children so I’m pretty invested in their future. They wouldn’t relent and I was so angry and shocked about their ignorance and rudeness I asked for a refund (against my just food) and left. Honestly, it shows a total lack of care about the environment, their customers enjoyment of the experience their (water in a glass is just normal and tastes better!) and that it’s being run by very lazy people who would rather buy and throw away presumably hundreds of plastic cups a day than wash some glasses. I’m boycotting them....a one woman (and any friend I would otherwise meet their) stand! P.s. also got table last are all stupidly small, all show and no practicality sums the...

Not only it’s overpriced (a small bottle of water £1.80, a kids sandwich £4.50) but also serves terrible food. I was so disappointed the first time I ate there after they reopened, the sweet potato falafel sounded great but was awful, albeit being expensive - it was dry, hard and lacked flavour, it was like eating saw dust in a cheap pita bread, and having to pay almost £10 for the pleasure!
Worst of all the staff is awful, all very young and untrained. For example, this evening I went to buy an ice cream for my daughter, there were 3 ladies chatting around the till, they hardly noticed I was standing in front of them, for a few minutes I tried to catch their attention and when I finally did and asked for an ice cream, one dryly replied “sorry just lollies now” I said that it wasn’t 5pm yet and she just looked at me and replied with a smile that was rude rather than friendly “two minutes to 5, just lollies now”. They always shut the ice cream parlour long before 5 as it’s probably more convenient for them, and they are so rude about...

Was in the park for a couple of hours and these were the problems we encountered: Poor signage, kiosk was open but so was the pavillion, not clear what can be ordered from where. Everyone queueing at the kiosk while staff inside seemingly doing very little. Ordered the vegi pizza, sat at benches at entrance to pavillion. Order number was never called for colleciton or was called such that no one sitting could hear, no attempt to recall it periodically. Only found out it had been called when I went up and asked Pizza didn't have all the toppings it said it should on the board, overcooked too Multiple staff standing around having a chat in the collection area while one staff member was overstretched taking orders, making hot drinks, serving ice cream with a long queue clearly visible. Witnessed people complaining about the ice cream because the freezer at the kiosk wasn't cold enough causing the ice cream to melt almost instantenously. From what I heard, manager acknowledged it wasn't working properly but continued to serve other customers from it.
All in all, won't be...
