Pepe's — Restaurant in London

Sleepy service! Lousy workers. I was in the shop by myself and I placed my order of a rice box and chicken wings, after patiently waiting I asked how many more minutes till my order is ready. Mandeep the store staff seemed like he got offended as he printed out my order which is timestamped and says me to do the calculations of when I ordered to how many minutes it has been. I felt a little on the spot as another customer came behind me, I said 25 minutes aprox, the staff goes NO! it has been 22 minutes actually. I said oh okay can you please tell me how many more minutes I have to wait to which he says it’s grill chicken to it has to cook properly. I said okay politely as I knew he had another customer behind me and I didn’t want him to think I was being rude and to spit on my food or accidentally any of his beard hair to fall on the food as he didn’t have a beard net on, then again I wouldn’t know the difference between his beard hair and the thick hair on his hands and arms. Anyways mandeep the staff member there tells me I have yet to wait another “..8 ..9 ..12 minutes maybe”. I have been to other Pepe’s and the service was not as bad as this shop. I have been to other Pepe's and enjoyed the experience, but the branch in Gants Hill, Ilford is awful. Poor atmosphere, poorly made food and worst if all is the service. My party had bought a lot of food at Pepes to eat in and one person bought food from another restaurant. The worker came over very rudely and said food from elsewhere was not allowed. He did not budge despite explaining how much we had spent and politely asking to make an exception. Having asked for the manager he blatantly lied and said he was the manager. We ended up leaving and going to the other restaurant who despite having a similar policy were happy for my party to sit down and eat even though only one of us had bought food from there. At Gants Hill Pepe's it seems the customer is never right and certainly the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Avoid this restaurant...

First time eating in at this place, usually order through Uber eats. The food is decent (I would give it a 4 for the food overall) but unfortunately, the customer service at this place is what let it down for me, especially when as a customer you challenge nonsense - I ordered a whole chicken with spicy rice and was only given one sauce! When I questioned this the manager had the cheek to tell me it’s not much to pay if you order an extra sauce (20p, which is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, lol), to which I responded if it’s not much I should get it for free considering the meal I just bought! I would of happily paid if it was said in the right way! They urgently need customer service training. I hope they get better at this, otherwise food is good if you’re looking for a decent quick peri peri meal and can stand bad customer...
