Old review Nice pizzas and food, also have a dessert place inside the shop that has decent cakes and trifles. They do accept card here, which is very convenient. Also have about 20 seats for inside dining.
Above was my previous review (5*) but that was Feb 2024. My March 2025 review is:
Went when fasting and hence was really hoping for a decent experience. Firstly when the time came to break fast, they were eating and didn’t think to offer even water or chips (from our order). This time I ordered a chicken burger meal and a doner burger meal for my friend. When they were making it I noticed the worker (pictured) sneeze and use his hand to catch it, he wiped his mouth and then carried on making the food, with the same hand, he grabbed a slice of cheese and put it in the burger and then closed it. He did the same with my friends burger using the same hand again. When they gave the food I was fuming and said: “come on are you serious? You’re actually going to give me the burger when I saw him doing that?”. They called the owner known as ‘Babloo’. He came and the worker denied it, he said to another staff to remake the burger. I didn’t get any apology or any sort of remorse from them. When we got the food, it was really bad. Both me and my friend didn’t finish the burger as it was way too saucy, no taste and barely edible (3/10). Separate to the fact that we were put off from the whole fiasco.
Finally they didn’t offer any concessions or apologise for anything. The pizza was like a 3/10 and I felt that my kids might get unwell. Cost almost £30 (so not cheap for such a bad experience). Definitely won’t be going back, even if I was extremely hungry and they are giving the food out for free. The only thing that I can recommend from this place is the bottled...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at PFC Espresso and have enjoyed their food in the past. This time, I ordered the Doner Kebab meal along with three portions of chicken and hot wings with chips.
The Doner Kebab was quite tasty with a nice level of spice. However, I think it would have tasted even better without the ketchup that was added during preparation it overpowered the other flavours. That said, the portion size was very reasonable.
Unfortunately, the chips were a letdown. They seemed to have been refried and tasted stale. The hot wings, which are usually one of the highlights here, were too dry this time and had a rubbery texture. I’m not sure what happened, as they usually get the wings just right. The chicken was okay, but I did find some visible hairs, which was off-putting it definitely needs better cleaning.
On a positive note, the staff are always very friendly and offer great customer service. The location is also very convenient, though parking can be quite difficult in the area.
As a loyal customer, I was a bit disappointed with the quality this time, but I believe this was just a one-off. I’m hopeful that on my next visit, the food will return to the usual high standard I’ve come to expect from...
Read moreBest PFC in the area. Just don't get too big for your boots like Stroudley PFC.
They had fierce competition from the start as "Stroudley Grill and PFC" which used to be on the other end of Stroudley Walk were the go-to place for locals as it had been in the estate for around 20 years.
Other PFC's that had taken over this old pub building had failed but Espresso have managed to survive even after Stoudley PFC rebranded and moved next door because Stroudley now attract people from outside of the local estate and now cater to them rather. The locals flock to Espresso as it doesn't feel like a chain and the quality and quantity of good is great.
Few things to note:
Get rid of your minimum card spend. Everyone knows whether someone spends £4 or £10 via card, you pay a percentage on card fees so stop forcing people to spend more to be allowed to use card facility.
Also, don't follow Stroudley and start raising prices and reducing portion sizes as that will just turn us locals away again. Look after your repeat customers and hopefully when the Stroudley bubble pops, they'll know they prioritised the...
