We visited as a party of nine for a celebratory meal on Saturday night. Whilst the food was of a high standard the quality of the service we received from our waitress was awful.
In the first instance she wanted to hurry us into ordering our starters and main course at the same time. It had been our intention to order the main course after eating our starters. We stated this to her and she insisted that starters and main courses have to be ordered together. I have never encountered this a Pizza Express before. I could understand if we had come to the restaurant not far from closing time but our table was reserved for 6.30. We understood that there would have been a delay between the starters and main course but that would have been fine as it would have given us time to chat. Secondly She forgot one of our drink orders and after much work to finally get her attention we had to remind her of our selection. An error was made with one of our main courses and when she brought the dish and we explained this she "tutted" at the individual concerned in disdain and proceeded to argue with her creating an uncomfortable atmosphere which other diners could see. Third she brought cutlery for nine diners to our table and literally dumped them in front of one of our party to distribute to the rest of our table. Overall we felt that her command of the English language was not sufficient for her role, we had to repeat things to her because she did not comprehend what we said. Her overall understanding of what customer service entailed was severely lacking as well. In summary having her as our server was a very uncomfortable experience and spoilt what should have been a convivial evening...

Went here for a spot of dinner on a Tuesday night. Upon entering the staff were pleasant enough, but immediately pestered us for our order despite being asked to give us a while, and while the restaurant was half empty.
My wife asked for no ice, and the waitress grabbed her fork and heaved it out into her water glass, dropping a few on our table. The water glass never returned. Our appetizer (garlic bread) arrived 20 seconds before our main. Her main (Pollo Pasta) was half cold with huge chunks of raw onion. My main (Veneziana) had clearly been put in the wrong temperature oven - the tomato sauce was uncooked and had a couple of whole green olives rolling around on it.
Despite our glasses being empty we weren't offered any drinks, and we asked for water (it didn't come until we'd paid), and asked for the bill , which also took a long time to appear while the wait staff were busy chatting to each other.
Literally two doors down is an AMAZING Italian restaurant called Zero Quattro and it is literally leagues ahead of this festering pile of mediocrity. I have put more effort in this review than was exhibited in the sum total of our the staff's during our...
Read moreMy husband and myself went after work on a Wednesday thinking it would be a quiet ish evening and a quick bite to eat and relax. But unfortunately it was not to be. They were very short staffed on the kitchen when we arrived (one person) and whilst we got our drinks no problem it was about another 1/2 hour before our shared starter for calamari arrived and then another 45 minute wait for our mains of a pizza and a pasta. Meanwhile the restaurant was filling up fast and every table's orders were lagging behind. There was already a large table of about 10 people when we got there. The floor staff were apologetic and they took 25% off our bill at the end, but it wasn't a pleasant experience sitting there with everybody else waiting ages for our food. It was packed out and very, very noisy. The food was still good and the quality didn't suffer luckily. We will go back at some point, but it did put us off a little. They could've stopped seating people or let people know there is a problem with staff shortages and that it would take longer than usual for food to be served before seating them. It's called managing customer's...
