Quirky and quaint little gem in Hammersmith

I met up a friend in Hammersmith and she suggested to have a special afternoon tea for the new year. We met up at Hammersmith station and walked for 10 mins to Poppy’ III which is a Thai restaurant and located in a residential area.

You can never know it is a Thai restaurant until you look at their menu. It’s decorated like a cafe but also a museum with different animal mounts.

The platter was beautifully presented like an afternoon tea and it’s just £10💖💖💖The Spring Roll and Prawn Roll were crispy and flavourful. The chicken was perfectly matched with the rich satay sauce. The Prawn Toast was topped with sesame seeds which levelled up the tastiness. Love them all😍😍😍

Ordered from Deliveroo and had the worst experience! 2 items were missing, so I called the restaurant to ask for them. A male member of staff (apparently called “T”) answered and told me it’s not their problem and we should take it up with Deliveroo, no apology or explanation and to make it worst hung up the phone half way through my call! I called back twice (first call ignored) once I got through the same member of staff told me it’s not his responsibility as he’s not legally employed there and I would need to call back at 5pm to have someone who is actually contracted by the business to assist! Deliveroo only offered me a refund for the missing items and I still has to pay for the other items as the restaurant was responsible for it. This is a place I used to regularly order from but I will no longer be doing so and also reporting to the council as not sure what is...

Ok this place is hands down the best restaurant I have been to all year so far, I would give it 6⭐ if possible.

I was left speechless after my meal, The decor was eclectic and kitsche 👌🏾 So much to look at and be awed by. I love the exclusivity and location tucked away in suburbia. No alcohol is served on the premises but it is BYOB - off license just next door ! The service is one of the winning features- the waiting staff are chatty ,knowledgable and go out of their way to help: the waiter dropped one piece of (amazing!) Thai calamari and brought us a fresh piece pronto- very unnecessary but very kind :) ¹

Well done Poppy's Thai ³ - last in their ever-growing empire but certainly not least !
