This refurbished friendly bistro/restaurant/ pub/ guest house is approaching its first birthday. Phone for details of their celebration party. It has an easy relaxed atmosphere with plenty of choice for seating; banquet booths, leather club chairs, and wooden cubby sheds in the garden. There's eclectic framed prints and the lighting ambience is soft. Menus are not confusing, quite concise and easy to navigate. They have an allergy menu if you're unsure about listed ingredients. I wished ld chosen the vegetarian option though for my Sunday roast. The smokehouse chicken on the bone was dry and the Yorkshire puddings a bit leathery. Less is more when it comes to this particular extra. It should be light and fluffy. It doesn't benefit from being as big as the townhouse ! . Our waitress agreed to amend the menu to say the chicken was on the bone. It was my daughter's 30 th birthday. Rather a subdued one, but at least she enjoyed her food and she has plans to visit with friends. Worth coming l think when there's live music planned. Their bar play list was a pleasant mix of classic Sinatra style pack rat, 70s west coast Creedence, rock and soft blues.

Had dinner here (family of four - two adults, two teens) and we all opted for the Monday burger deal (burger and drink £14.95 each). The food arrived after around 30 minutes at which point we were still waiting for our drinks. It wasn’t busy, but unfortunately the staff weren’t very attentive. Food was ok, buns were dry and a bit hard. After eating we played shuffleboard which we’d pre-booked in advance (free on Monday). Two shuffleboards available as well as electro darts. Overall nice pub, but food was average at best and staff were more interested in chatting to each other or looking at their phone. There were empty glasses on several tables, but we were in there for nearly two hours and nobody collected any in that time. If you want a free/cheap game of shuffleboard it’s worth going, but there are better places to eat in Hammersmith. This place has the potential to be a lot better than it actually is.

Food is ok, Fresh, excellent quality and generous portions combined with great BBQ/Smoked juicy meat, impeccable attention to detail. 1 start for ambient and slowly losing its identity turning to some sort of Sports Bar! Unfortunately the atmosphere is not as good as used to be and they always short staffed since May 2022. Also there is mice 🐀 issue in garden area! ---------------------- Previous feedback; The food is a different league, and you are here for a real deal. The Chef knows his business and always surprises you with excellent quality, well-balanced, marinated nicely, and deliciously cooked.

Had a lovely stay for 5 nights with my daughter. If I had to name one negative thing it would probably be the AC vent that ran through the night, rattling. The fact that it sometimes went quiet for a minute or two before turning back on made it almost worse than if it had been running consistently. The rooms are a little run down, but I'm used to way worse from even more expensive hotels in London.

Other than that, every single one of the staff that we met was very friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Marta and Nick! 😉 And to the lad with the long hair (sorry, didn't catch your name) who helped my wife get a cab when she visited us.

Our room was even ready an hour early. The pub's outside seating area can get a little louder Fri to Sun, but it didn't bother me and my child at all and we had a good rest. The room was neither too hot nor too cold. The shower had nice hot water immediately.

The separate entry to the rooms, secured with an extra code lock, is very convenient, as is the bus stop practically in front of the house. The tube station is about a 5 minutes walk away, shops and restaurants about 10 minutes, and it wasn't too noisy at night (or at least we didn't notice it due to the aircon 😉).

The breakfast and pub food is really delicious, and there's a wide selection of beers.

We will definitely come back when we stay in...

Meat mains are quite good, sides are average (chips look straight out of a freezer bag, no traces of charring were observed on the "charred" corn, slaw had no sauce and some huge chunks), but fair enough, it probably helps to keep prices reasonable. Beer selection really good, wine menu is small. Service is what really lets you down:

  1. We were asked to order drinks literally before our buttcheecks touched the chair, then largely ignored for the rest of the evening (we wanted to get dessert but after 15 minutes without seeing a waiter, we opted for the bill instead)... 2)... after which we were again ignored when it came to actually paying it.
  2. we asked for a substitution in a dish - we did not get it, which is not necessarily bad, but we were not even told. Did they forget or they just couldn't do it? Who knows!
  3. we were brought chips and not asked if we wanted sauces. Once we managed to flag down a waiter, we got pre-packaged salt and mayo. I get that during covid you cannot have salt shakers, but what's stopping you from putting the mayo in a small bowl?
  4. the place was cold, probably something to do with the door to the garden being always open.
  5. waiters literally never come to ask you if you need anything, you need to flag them down whenever they appear, but if you sit in the wrong area it could be hours...
