Ravenscourt Park – A Peaceful Escape in West London Ravenscourt Park, located in the heart of West London, is a serene and expansive green space that offers a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. One of the highlights of the park is the historic Ravenscourt House, which adds an elegant touch to the surroundings. The park regularly hosts community events, making it a great place to socialize and engage with locals.

It's funny how you see places differently over time. I spent a good chunk of my childhood in this park, but sufficiently many moons have passed that I could not have enumerated all the different playgrounds in it. Now that I return with children, I find that the park itself is unaccountably smaller, but that the children's facilities are legion! A good range of different playgrounds for different ages, lots of open space, and the tea-house is just as I recall, albeit somewhat pricier (it makes a difference when you're the one paying!). Good fun, even in the winter - in fact, there's a good case for going then, when things aren't quite as crowded. Furnished with basketball courts, tennis courts, an astroturf football pitch as well as a few different garden and open areas, this is truly a throwback to one's childhood. Plus my wife tells me there was an episode of Made In Chelsea where they all went there. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but whatever floats your boat. Speaking of, the paddling pool is great in the summer months (viewed through the nostalgic haze of childhood anyway), if a little over-subscribed. Lots of open spaces, even my wife (who is Australian) remarked favourably on such. The Guy Fawkes fireworks, laid on by the local council, are among the best in London....

Ravenscourt Park is one of those underrated spots that quietly does a lot right. It’s spacious, green, and feels like a proper breather from the city without needing to go far. While it’s not as sprawling as nearby Gunnersbury Park, it still covers plenty of ground—especially if you’re after a bit of a run or some open space to clear your head.

There’s a loop around the park that clocks in around 1.5 km, which makes it perfect for casual runners or anyone looking to get a few laps in without dodging too many prams and picnickers. What really stands out though is how well-equipped it is for sports—tennis courts, football pitches, and even a good play area for kids. It’s active, but not hectic.

The trees are mature, the lawns are open, and overall, it’s an excellent bit of lung space in West London. One thing to note: I did notice a few rough sleepers tucked away in corners of the park. It didn’t feel unsafe, just something you might clock if you’re walking through early or late.

All in all, Ravenscourt is a well-kept, community-friendly park with just the right mix of activity and calm. Not massive, but it punches...

A beautiful venue in the centre of Hammersmith! With tennis, basketball, 6x6 football courts, many areas for our little friends to play, even a children's pool. One of the most beautiful parks I've seen so far, congratulations to the Municipality for its cleanliness recipe! If I had to write something negative, it would be that there are no toilets for visitors, but the great beauty of the park makes you forget about these needs.

Nice friendly London Park, good for families and dog owners. Lots of community activities here (see photos of Caribbean food festival with reggae music). There is a lovely café selling good quality home made food. You can volunteer and learn to grow flowers and vegetables in the greenhouses. Lovely pond with ducks and geese. Great for watching bats at night! (See video of a bat flying past!) Lovely place if you like nature.
