I don't normally bother writing long reviews, but in this case, it seems necessary. Went on Father's Day (not realising that is was! - there was a limited menu) and were told there would be a 20 min wait for food. It wasn't busy, so no problem. About 1 hr later, we were told it would still be another 30 minutes since they were short of kitchen staff. Eventually we got our meal 2:30 hours after we sat down!!! As we were leaving we were offered complimentary desserts, which we don't eat. Oh well, another option to reflect the poor experience would have nice. However - food; the Prawn starter was very nice. The seafood pizza was soggy (not what I'm after with a wood fired oven!), not helped by being served on the fashionable 'slice of wood', and the burger (at least they asked how we wanted it done - medium rare) was overdone. So overall, potential, but on this occasion, very poor service, and poor food. The worst thing was that a table that arrived 1hr after us got served first. Read moreLovely pub. Really good staff. Food was lovely ,very well presented, but once left kitchen and coming into marquee it was cold, veg were not perfectly cooked but was OK.
Having meals in the marquee is OK,but needs more heating ,and more importantly needs to look into how to get food from kitchen to marquee hot.
