I went in today around 6pm with a friend and asked the lady at the front if I could use the restroom she said I needed to buy something so I thought to get a table and eat in. I was greeted then followed by the man who worked there felt very uncomfortable after using the restroom went to look at the menu and realised it was dirty then after a few minutes of thinking what I wanted I then looked at the table and that was dirty too. I would usually ask if they can wipe it but because of COVID I did not feel safe buying anything or even just sitting in the café. So me and my friend decided to leave I apologised and was about to leave when the same man who followed us in the beginning made a comment and I asked him what he said and then AGGRESSIVELY accused me and my friend coming in just to use the restroom I was completely shocked so then decided to record as I felt this was a RACIAL ATTACK towards me and my friend as it all added up with the way he followed us to begin with if you like a copy of the video I will happily email you it over. Continuing on I then asked for his name multiple time and answered it was not my business and then had the cheek to ask me for my name after I asked the women who he was working with the same question and I revived the same answer. I COULD NOT BELIVE MY EYES ! I told him the reason we did not stay was because the table was dirty and he rudely told us to leave and sarcastically told us to come again . I have never been spoken to like this in any coffee shop restaurant or anywhere like this before it is awful. I WILL MOST DEFINITELY NOT I REPEAT NPT GOING...
Read moreLovely staff, lots of great food options. There's room for improvement in their milky coffee-making, particularly in ensuring correct (lower) temperature for the milk when steaming to avoid burning it and using fresh milk every time, but most other coffee shops in London are much worse, consistently burning the milk when steaming and re-steaming leftover milk; so compared to everything else nearby, it's the best coffee around, especially if you're having it without milk anyway. Also try their yogurt drink (forgot the name)!
This is one of the best three coffee shops in Walthamstow; the other two being L'Hirondelle also in Hoe Street, and another cafe near Sam 99p on...
Read moreStaff are polite and attentive and the restaurant is clean and spacious. While the food is priced at approximately £6-7, I felt it was anything but a bargain. Their Feijoada has the cheapest cuts of meat (ear and tail), which while strictly "traditional" (families chuck left over cuts into Feijoada so as not to waste), it doesn't make for a pleasant eating experience in a restaurant.
Looking forward to trying...
