Roti Joupa Finsbury Park (The Junction Market) — Restaurant in London

Great Roti and hot doubles experience.

Met an original Trini chef, selling original Trini Roti and Doubles. I am not a Trini but of Caribbean heritage and have been to Trinidad as like many of the Islands. Bwoy eating Doubles here brought back memories of Trinidad, Laventille. Portions were good, in fact none of the three of us could complete it in one sitting.

Just for clarification and a point of reference, we visited 18th Sept 2021.

The doubles were so nice, before return back to NW London we returned to the Chef's surprise and laughter for more double's.

Definitely saved this place as a favorite in my Google Maps as we will definitely be returning.

For other reviewers, please note. It is not a restaurant and regardless of the Chef's emotional behavior, it's about the quality of food. If you want banter with your food, go on a Meetup app where it's a restaurant with your friends and review waiters and establishments. This review is about the delicious food the Chef and his assistance provide which i believe is great.

Parking outside is not great but neither is the travel to Mount Everest yet when people look at the view at the top you dont hear them say. "Great view, but I would not recommend it as it has not got a stair-lift or an easy way to get there. - Just saying.

This was my first visit and certainly wont be my last.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I do not usually write these as you can most likely tell but I am hoping this shop retains as the food we received had no complaints but actually positives.

Plus just to add, I have had many Roti's in and outside the UK and by friends. Best Roti shop this year I have discovered and i know there aren't many but these guys are doing a great job.

Ohhh doubles... this is a fantastic little gem, Trini food at it's best. Delicious chana, light and delicious dough, and my oh my that pepper sauce! Its unbelievable. Scotch Bonnet pepper sauce, as hot as it is delicious. You will feel its heat but if you like your chilli you will also feel that euphoria that only comes from good chilli.

The Roti is excellent quality, I had mine full of curry goat (no bones) and pepper sauce, absolutely Fantastic, generous portion of tender meat in a superb mild curry.

I can't recommend this place enough, I drove 10 miles just for a fix of this, and will do it again.

And the staff are so...

First of all the gentleman at the till was very uninviting and it made me feel uncomfortable. I ordered the hot doubles, curry chicken, buss up, one dhal puri and pholourie. May I start with expressing my disappointment with the curry chicken it wasn’t of the best quality of meats and drenched in oil, the pholourie was ok but a little to dense for my likings but I wouldn’t order it again.
