A Culinary Journey to South India Right Here in Town
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Sangeeta, a gem that brings the authentic flavors of South India to our city.
From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance, enhanced by traditional decor and soothing Carnatic music in the background.
The menu at Sangeeta is a testament to the rich and diverse culinary heritage of South India.
Each dish is crafted with precision, using fresh ingredients and aromatic spices that transport you straight to the heart of India. We started our meal with variety of snacks, mushroom, wada, paneer, dishes eventually landing towards bahubali masala dosa (in true sense, 5 feet long) a crisp and with a perfectly spiced potato mixture. Paired with the tangy coconut chutney and sambar, it was a delightful beginning.
Vegetarians will find a haven at Sangeeta, with an array of mouthwatering options. The Avial, a medley of vegetables cooked in a coconut and yogurt sauce, was a highlight. The subtle yet distinct flavors were a refreshing change from the usual fare, showcasing the restaurant’s dedication to authenticity and quality.
The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff especially Megha Kamesh manager, who were more than happy to guide us through the menu and make recommendations. Their genuine enthusiasm for the food added to the overall dining experience.
Whether you’re a fan of spicy curries, fragrant rice dishes, or delicate dosas, this restaurant promises a feast for all your senses. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings. Highly...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Indian vegetarian restaurant, and I must say, it felt like a comforting taste of home, despite being far from my hometown. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an inviting ambience that blended tradition with modern charm — soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that immediately made me feel at ease.
The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was prepared with care and authenticity, bringing the rich flavors of Indian cuisine to life. The dal tadka was perfectly spiced, and the paneer tikka was grilled to perfection, with a smoky flavor that transported me straight back to my family’s kitchen. The aloo gobi was a standout as well, with the perfect balance of spices and a mouthwatering aroma that filled the air.
What truly made the experience special was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure that every detail of our meal was perfect. They made me feel like a cherished guest, and the pacing of the courses was spot-on — never rushed, but always right on time.
It’s not often that I find a place that so beautifully captures the essence of home, especially when I’m miles away. But this restaurant did just that — it reminded me of the warmth, flavors, and hospitality of my hometown. If you’re craving authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine and an unforgettable experience, this place is...
Read moreThe waiters and waitress was very attentive and polite. The Masala Dosa was very nice, fresh crispy dosa, Potatoe masala was well flavoured and Sambar (gravy) just the right heat however, when starting on channa Bhatrua we found a dark hair in the salad part of ghee thaali. The staff were apologetic and discussed the situation with the owner I this his name is Bhagree) who sat in his corner for the entire duration of our meal. The staff finally came back with the final Billl and took the dish and a further £2.44 off the bill, what an insult !!!! I shared my thoughts with the manager and told him to add it back to the bill and not to Expect me back or recommend this place to my friend and family. So this is the point.. mistakes can happen, we’re human after all but being human also means you Must be accountable for your actions. The owner sat there in his corner like the Italian mafia and didn’t have the courtesy to come over and personally apologise and to add insult to injury he gave a £2 discount. The owners attitude says a lot about his arrogance so therefore he doesn’t deserve my money nor my business. Hair in anyone’s food is totally against food and hygiene standards but the after services can make a difference to coming back. For the sake of £20 he’s lost my business...
