Spice Village Catering: We had our wedding on 23rd July 2022 after waiting 3 years since booking with Spice Village (covid forced us to postpone 4 times). The food served at our wedding celebrations was delicious! The staff who were serving the food were so friendly and attentive. Nauman was our event planner who took care of all the details from catering, decor and venue search. Nauman went above and beyond for us even in the last week when we were told last minute by the venue that there cannot be a cash bar (which they could have told us in the 3 years waiting). Despite this, Nauman managed to communicate between everyone and sort something out for us at the very last minute to ensure we got everything we wanted. Our wedding was amazing and everyone enjoyed themselves! Everyone loved the food and decor! The decor was absolutely beautiful! Nauman is a wonderful asset to Spice Village and such a friendly person. We thank you so much for everything!
Few honest points as feedback to possibly improve:
communication could be slightly better as I did find I was chasing things quite often. For example, we would be told we would receive a signed contract or a final event plan on a certain day and it would often not be sent as promised and I would chase this. Also, response times were longer than I would have thought they should be for a professional company dealing with a client’s wedding.
on the day of the wedding, even though we had put “scarf box” on the floor plan - this was not put out in the venue which was very disappointing as this is a very important part of the culture (My husband is Assyrian and these scarves are used for dancing at weddings etc). My side is Indian and I had guests asking if we had scarves so they could take part, which I only came to learn at the end of the night. Therefore, our guests could not experience this side of the culture unfortunately which was an important part of our wedding.
also on the floor plan, it was set out that a gift table would be set up but this was not done - the post box was simply placed on the floor in front of our stage.
my husband spoke to Nauman and requested a cake stand which we were told would be provided, but this was not provided.
during the reception, we had guests advise that they were not served dessert and when the event manager was asked about this he said that they only served this to guests who were seated. We were not made aware of this beforehand and did not agree to this and many guests did not have dessert or the wedding cake we asked to be cut up as there was a large amount leftover at the end. This shouldn’t have been done without our permission as we had spent money on this for all of our guests.
we had bought alcohol to be served at the bar and provided accordingly. Unfortunately it was decided for us that the bar would be opened after serving mains - this was not agreed with us beforehand. I asked the event manager about this and he said he wouldn’t want to serve it before mains and I did understand the idea behind it but thinking back, this is not something that should be decided for us as once again we paid for this to be running. As a result, the majority of the alcohol was not used and our money went to waste.
Overall, we were just over the moon to finally have our day and we would highly recommend Spice Village but we want to be completely honest which is why we also provide some points which could be improved and things to pay attention to for future events.
Thank you so much mainly to Nauman for everything! God...

During a recent visit to Southall, London, we had the pleasure of dining at Spice Village, a restaurant that lives up to its sterling reputation for delivering authentic South Asian cuisine. From the moment we entered, it was clear that attention to detail is a cornerstone of their operation — the restaurant was impeccably clean, and the décor was tasteful, blending modern aesthetics with subtle cultural touches to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
We began our culinary journey with Pani Puri, which set the tone for the evening — crisp, fresh, and bursting with the perfect balance of spice and tang. The Lamb Chops followed, expertly marinated and grilled to tender perfection, with a smoky char that spoke volumes about the chef’s skill.
For mains, we ordered the Lamb Charsi Karahi (½ KG) and the Achari Chicken Karahi. Both dishes were outstanding, highlighting the chef’s mastery of traditional flavors and techniques. The Lamb Karahi was rich and hearty, with tender meat enveloped in a robust, aromatic gravy. The Achari Chicken Karahi impressed with its bold, pickled spice profile — a rare dish to find done this well outside of Pakistan. Accompanied by perfectly soft Plain Naan, every bite was a reminder of how authentic and lovingly prepared the food at Spice Village truly is.
No meal would be complete without dessert, and Lahori Falooda provided a sweet, refreshing finale. To our delight, the staff also graciously offered us a complimentary serving of Gajjar Halwa — a traditional carrot-based dessert that was wonderfully rich, moist, and delicately flavored. It was a thoughtful gesture that added a personal touch to an already memorable dining experience.
Throughout the evening, the service remained impeccable. The staff were attentive, courteous, and genuinely invested in ensuring every guest was comfortable and satisfied. Their professionalism added greatly to the overall experience, making us feel warmly welcomed and well cared for.
In summary, Spice Village in Southall is a shining example of South Asian hospitality and culinary excellence. The food was top-notch, the environment was spotless and inviting, and the service was second to none. It’s evident that the chefs here are passionate about their craft, and it reflects in every dish served. Whether you're a connoisseur of South Asian cuisine or a first-time visitor, Spice Village is an experience you won't want to miss.

Cleanliness & hygiene - Table was already set when we were seated. Table top was very sticky synonymous with a pub table! 2/10
Popadoms & dips - were brought quickly but were cold. At least they were crispy 6/10
Mango chutney - tasty but unfortunately thinned down 4/10
Chili sauce - was nice & uniquely over minty, delicious 9/10
Chicken tikka - was stupendous. Succulent tender breast pieces with an awesome tandoori coating and grilled to perfection 😍 9/10
Chicken sheesh - was nice but the chili and other spices killed the taste of the chicken completely. It was grilled nicely though 6/10
Chappal kebab - presented well - lacked meaty flavour though & was far too dry. Taste was average but a decent size 5/10
Nan - soft but not fluffy & not particularly tasty 5/10
Tandoori roti - was spot on neither too thick nor too thin. Perfect & fresh from the tandoor 9/10
Chicken jalfrezi - lovely presentation & colour but comprised mainly of tomatoes and only a couple of tiny pieces of pepper. Overpowering tomato flavour & a lack of sauce - not desi at all. Spices were good & chicken was tasty but the whole point of jalfrezi is peppers & onions 😔 4/10
Lamb jalfrezi was better in taste, same looks but tastier with correct blend of spice & chili & nice sauce! Still comprised mainly of tomatoes but at least I got some fresh onions & crispy red peppers with this one. Unfortunately the meat was rather tough (it was mutton and not lamb as advertised) but the flavour made up for it 7/10.
Kids meal - chicken burger with fries & fruit shoot. Processed chicken and seriously lacked flavour. My daughter only took 2 bites & left the rest. At least her fries were nice 2/10
Staff & service - no smiles, asked for water 3 times before it arrived. No professionalism and some of the waiters lacked a basic level of English so I had to resort to using urdu! 3/10 (place was only half full)
Thefoodsheikh says: I'm 50/50 on whether to return here, but give it a try!
