A friend and I decided to go here, having previously visited Namak Mandi and very impressed, those of you who know will also know their extraordinary food.

We decided to visit Spice Village before I get into details, Spice Village has secured a special place in my heart. Keep yourself hydrated with plenty of ‘Yoghurt’.

We (two people) ordered the following out of the Menu:

Starters:

Chatpata Chaat – 9/10

Punjabi Samosas (Veg) – 10/10

Peshawari Chapal Kebab (Ordered to arrive with mains) – 8/10

Mains:

Lahori Nihari – 9/10

Bhatti Gate Shahi Haleem – 9/10

Fresh Naan x3 – 8/10

Lassi Mango x2 – 8/10

Verdict:

Chatpata Chaat - Stunning Chaat presented in an excellent way. The Chaat was spot on with delicate and crunchy flavours bursting in your mouth with the right spices and a hint of pomegranate. I decided to mix my Punjabi Samosa with the Chaat to try it as a Samosa Chaat (which can be ordered separately), and it was epic a must try.

Punjabi Samosas (Veg) – Ordered a portion as you get two samosas, the samosas were brilliant, so fresh that when these arrived and you take a bite, it is smoking hot! It really reminded me of having a Samosa from back home. The only thing I would say is that perhaps the size of these samosas, they’re not as big as you’d expect, but still taste amazing, before you know it, they’re gone! Put it on your wish list – 10/10

Lahori Nihari Lamb – Lahori Nihari is amongst a Specialty Section in the menu of Spice Village, being a fan of Nihari, you would expect a ‘bone’ in a Nihari traditionally, however, at Spice Village the Nihari was ‘boneless’ and it was incredible! Rich flavoursome taste with lamb so tender it’s unreal, it melts in your mouth. This dish is bound to be your absolute favourite if not, a must-try, wonderfully put together.

Bhatti Gate Shahi Haleem – Okay so Haleem, traditionally served with Fried brown onions, Lemon, coriander, ginger and chilli and you get a bang! A place that can serve you these ‘famous-five’ compliment your ‘Haleem’ knows their food! Spice Village knew this, I really enjoyed the Haleem it’s got excellent rich creamy texture, having squeezed lemon and adding coriander, fried onions, with chilli, to turn it up a notch made this dish irresistible, make sure you have a big boy’s appetite for this giant. ‘A Fiery Dish’.

Mango Lassi – Excellent value for your money, I really like Mango lassi, so enjoyed the one Spiced Village served. Not excessively sweet, on point, it went extremely well with Spicy food, I would recommend you order this on the side, comes in a nice Metal mug, cool to touch – Lassi as it should be.

Peshawari Chapal Kebab – The famous Chapal Kebab. Previously I became a fanboy of these when I tried them first time after ages in London at ‘Namak Mandi’. The Peshawri Kebab at Spice Village is almost half the price of ‘Namak Mandi’ so expect smaller portion. In my eyes, the Kebab itself is very tasty and you should order it, it has all the checkboxes you’re looking to get ticked off! For an ultimate Peshawari Kebab though Namak Mandi is where it’s at.

Naan Bread – Standard Fresh Naan, soft and warm as you would expect. Pretty good timing, came with the mains so we could dig right in. Were given an option to order more if needed.

Customer Service – Najeeb took well care of me, I spoke with Najeeb in Urdu and English and told him exactly the type of food I was looking for. He was very nicely spoken, and was patient, came up to check up on us as well as asked whether we were ready for the mains after the starters. It’s these things that round your overall experience...

Spice Village Restaurant Tooting 121 Upper Tooting Rd, London SW17 7TJ

Tel No. 020 8672 0710 Website. https://www.spicevillagerestaurants.co.uk/tooting/

Hours Opening Times Mon-Thur 12pm to 11:30pm Friday - 2pm to 11:30pm Saturday - 12pm to 11:30pm Sunday - 10am to 11:30pm

Spice Village moved to this new location after the pandemic. The owner took a brave decision to renovate the building into an exciting and head turning boutique style restaurant.

Spice Village is an excellent restaurant that goes beyond just serving delicious food. It is a place where every detail is carefully crafted to create an unforgettable dining experience. From the warm, inviting ambiance to the attentive service, Spice Village strives for excellence in every aspect.

The menu is a celebration of rich, authentic flavors, prepared with the traditional ingredients and culinary expertise. But what is special about Spice Village is its dedication to perfection, whether it's the elegant presentation of each dish, the thoughtfully designed interiors, or the genuine hospitality that makes every guest feel special.

Here, dining is not just a meal; it’s a journey of taste, comfort, and refined pleasure. Spice Village doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them, making every visit memorable.

The art of service offered by Spice Village is second to none. Their skilled serving team does more than deliver dishes, they intuitively understand the mood and needs of guests who are parting with their hard-earned money. They are attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being overbearing, and warm without being overly familiar. Every interaction is designed to leave the guest feeling valued.

The dining experience of Spice Village is a symphony of carefully orchestrated elements, each contributing to the guest's perception of quality and luxury. While exceptional cuisine is essential, it is only one part of the equation. True excellence from Spice Village lies in the harmony of service, ambiance, and meticulous attention to detail.

The Importance of atmosphere is critical in today's restaurant world as every restaurant offering Asian or Pakistani food is looking to outdo the other. Therefore, Spice Village has created an eye opening secen without overreaching itself.

The unseen details do matter and a restaurant’s true standards are often revealed in bathrooms. Spice Village looks to offer pristine but a unique setup that is fully stocked. No guest should ever find an empty soap dispenser, missing paper towels, or a flickering light. These small oversights can tarnish an otherwise flawless experience.

Beyond logistics, the mood of the staff is contagious. The team of Spice Village team looks to genuinely engage with its customers. They seem happy, and proud of their work. Of course there may be tension or indifference, but these are not seen by the customer.

The cherry at the top of the Spice Village cake is a fact that it is truly great restaurant that looks to seamless blend with culinary mastery, flawless service, and an environment that makes guests feel special. Spice Village is not just about feeding people, it’s about creating moments...

A Delightful Culinary Journey at Spice Village, Tooting

My recent visit to Spice Village in Tooting was an experience that truly stood out, thanks to both the incredible food and the exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance of the restaurant promised a unique and enjoyable dining experience, and it did not disappoint.

The menu at Spice Village is a testament to the rich and diverse flavors of traditional cuisine, with each dish offering a delightful burst of flavors and aromas that tantalize the taste buds. The ingredients were fresh, and the spices perfectly balanced, creating memorable dishes that left me wanting more. The standout dish for me was their signature curry, which was cooked to perfection and rich in depth and flavor. It's clear that the chefs at Spice Village take great pride in their culinary creations, and it shows in the quality of the food served.

What truly set this dining experience apart, however, was the outstanding service provided by Zeeshan. His attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine care for the patrons were evident from the get-go. Zeeshan went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that every aspect of our meal was perfect. His recommendations from the menu were spot on, catering to our preferences and dietary requirements with ease. It's rare to encounter someone who not only excels in their role but does so with such passion and dedication.

The commitment to customer satisfaction at Spice Village is commendable, and Zeeshan embodies this ethos completely. His friendly demeanor, professional attitude, and exceptional service greatly enhanced our dining experience, making it not just a meal, but a memorable event.

In conclusion, Spice Village is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination that offers an outstanding dining experience in Tooting. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend a visit. The combination of delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional service, especially from Zeeshan, ensures that Spice Village stands out as a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality cuisine in a...

@spicevillagetooting📍 121 Upper Tooting Rd, London SW17 7TJ.. after eating from spice village many times at wedding finally got to visit the restaurant which they have recently refurbished! Parked on one off the side roads near by however the closest tube station is Tooting Bec which is around a 10 minute walk. They do take both cash and card payments. We visited on a weekday so was a lot quieter then a weekend and got seated very quickly and the food also came very quick too. What we ordered: 1. ‘Village special mixed grill’ this included a bit of everything. The platter had seekh kebabs, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, & lamb chops perfect for sharing between a few people. The lamb chops where so good even got some for takeout. (£29:99) 2. ‘Village famous masala fish’ from the water to the mouth, this fish just had collected some fresh herbs and spices to make itself more tastier. (£8:99) 3. ‘Samosa Chaat’ Spicy chanay with veg samosas with spicy tamarind chutney. (£6:99) 4. ‘Egg fried rice’ A dish of cooked rice stir-fried in a wok and is usually mixed with eggs, bell peppers and an assortment of other vegetables. (£5:99) 5. ‘Chicken Tikka Masala curry’ Chargrilled chicken tikka cooked with tomatoes & herbs, also got some garlic and normal Naan with this. (£10:99) 6. ‘Fries’ (£2.99) 7. ‘Lotus Milk-cake’ (£7:99) not big fan of milk cakes however I enjoyed this one (they was sold out of a lot of the other desserts such as the chocolate heaven & Tarta De Queso Basque which wanted to try however maybe next time. For drinks we got a glass of mango lassi, Oreo milkshake and tried out two of the Mocktails on the menu the strawberry mojito & blue lagoon. No complaints with anything. I would 100% go back here again. I have no complaints with the food and the customer service was also really good! I’ve been to a few asain restaurants in Tooting and this is defiantly the best one out of all of them.
