It was a very big disappointment today. I love Wetherspoon but in this branch , the staff in general is not smiley and rude. I want to share you a big disappointment today which is happened today. I ordered tuna and mayo jacket potato. They served me jacket potato without mayo. After I realised this I went the till , and let them know about that. The staff did let manager who is in charge. She said sorry first, then she came from the kitchen said to me the chef is very sure about he put mayo inside and mixed it. And I showed her in detail by using the fork, I mean there was no mayo and I was very sure. I said to her you are free to check from cameras please , because I am very sure that there is no mayo. She said there is no camera in the kitchen. I said ok check the camera in the salon, she said she can’t check it and ask me what I want from her to do in this situation. I said I want tuna and mayo jacket potato, she didn’t want to replace it and became rude to me. By using her body language she said you are not understanding me , do you. And the n I got pissed off. After that I said you can’t speak to any customer like this , I want to speak with a general manager or who else. She took my plate straight away and said I will give your refund. And she came with cash money and put the money to the table. I said I paid by card , and went to till , you can not give me cash because I paid by card, this rude manager again it’s too late now. She is SUCH A RUDE PERSON WHO CAN NEVER BE A MANAGER. I asked her name to complaint she said she will not say her name. She told me you will go , I will call police. I said please call police, I am waiting but I will complain about you before I go here. I waited until a manager came and speak to me. I told her what happened , I go to this pub for many years almost everyday. It’s not important just to put a mayo or just paying £9 for that. The issue is a kind of worst customer service you can not give to customers at all . Another manager gave me a right and calmed me down, she understood my point and she apologised for her. It’s really bad, I don’t advice this pub to anybody if they want a smiley and kind service. Because they don’t have. She did not give her name but she has long hair, she is around at her 40s. I wish you good luck, if you will take a service from her. Young people who works there who is around at their 20’s , they are kind and smiley, and also Pam is kind. But Jenny is not smiley at all, and this manager, I don’t know her name, she is also a very rude person for sure. The other one who was kind told me that she will let the pub manager know about this. And I left my phone number there to speak with the pub manager about what happened and to complain about her. She said she will the phone number to him/her to call me back. I waited but nobody called me. I think the higher management needs to really investigate the customer service quality in this pub. People they go there because it’s cheaper than so many places, it has also nice atmosphere but it doesn’t mean that the managers can behave rudely, speak also rudely to the customers because they are sure about even this customer will go, the other one will come. This rude manager , behaves like she doesn’t work there, she just behaves like the pub is her own place and she just wants to be paid, doesn’t care about the customer service. My local for over 20 years and I cannot believe how I have just been treated. I spent close to £25 today on drinks this afternoon as I wanted to do a little bit of work in the pub. The last drink I bought was a double vodka. Sat outside I was involved on a work call and when I finished I noticed my drink had been removed. I noticed that the manager and another member of staff was cleaning up glasses so I went over and said that I think my drink had been removed accidentally. She then looked at me and asked "so where is it?"... I calmy said I don't know, I think its been removed. She then dismissively told me to check the glasses her colleague had collected. I did so and found it under a couple of other glasses (pretty much still full as I had only had a couple of sips - it was straight measures without a mixer). I then asked if it would be replaced to which she then decided to enquire how the drink could be removed while I was sitting at the table. I said I was on a call and she looked at me in disbelief and said she was not going to replace it. I said that this was unbelievable behaviour from a manager and then she reluctantly asked who served me as she still didn't believe me.... The guy at the bar immediately said he remembered me as I had only bought my drink about 10 min previously. She then made me wait another 15 min before refunding me as she was insistent that she didn't want to replace the drink. Disgusting behaviour 2/10 would not...
Read moreI have been coming to this pub since 2001 and I absolutely love it but on this occasion I had a really bad experience ☹️. It was busy so service was a bit slower which was expected...our food arrived but drinks haven't.We pointed this out to the waiter who was also the manager and he said that the drinks are on the way. Some time later when we nearly finished our food we called him over to say that we still didn't receive the drinks and at this time he said that we must have drank them already as he remembered collecting empty bottles and glasses from our table.☹️☹️☹️ He then stormed off and refused to speak to us again. That is unacceptable behaviour for any grownup let alone a manager!!! (HR should evaluate criteria for manager's position)! By this point we didn't want to stay there any longer and approached a different staff member who turned out to be a manager from Tollgate pub who was very helpful and offered us a refund for the drinks we never received!!! We will probably still visit Spouter's Corner and hopefully manager will brush up on his...
