This place opened up recently and it has an extensive menu with lots of choice. So far, I’ve only dabbled with the brunch and breakfast meals but everything I’ve seen go past has looked good.
I went for a Kelvin Road breakfast which consisted of poached eggs, sourdough toast, avocado, halloumi, smoked salmon, tomatoes and mushrooms. When I mentioned what I’d had to a friend she said it felt like the breakfast wasn’t quite sure what kind of breakfast it was, but I enjoyed the mix and match aspect of all the bits. It was also beautifully presented.
In another occasion, I tried The Angel which was halloumi, spicy sausage, poached eggs, mushrooms and was served either with pancakes or french toast. I went for the French toast. As if this wasn’t already an epic meal, it also came with maple syrup, fresh fruit and cream. I can imagine if you’re the kind of person who likes their bits of food separated this could be an issue but I really enjoyed it all. I went with another family so there were 4 adults and 4 children - everyone thought their food was delicious although there a small wait on a couple of the plates.
However, the staff were welcoming and friendly and I’m looking forward to trying more from their menu.
They have a small very very tasty looking selection of milkshakes which I think will be the next...
Read moreI don't normally do Google reviews for restaurants as I've usually got too much already on my plate (boom boom). But I had to write a review, and a great one at that for Stage Brasserie in Highbury. The food really is delicious, the servings are generous, the prices are fair and the service is warm and timely. My wife and I were sharing an entree and a main and the proportions were really quite good on our separate plates. What more can you ask? Plus they didn't automatically add the discretionary service tax, which means I paid it voluntarily, actually another 15%. We did lunch and were so impressed we came back for dinner. They have only been in business here for less than a year but they deserve to do well. The lady owner and her staff Jill are gems. 5 stars plus! Ps we were all the way from Australia and these were 2 great last meals in Europe before the big...
Read moreTHE BEST BREAKFAST IN LONDON. Having eaten a full english breakfast in over 50 countries and experienced the worst from the best…I can confidently say this is the BEST! and the price point…I mean £15 for a full english, pancakes/french toast, whipped cream, fresh fruit???? I feel like I was in a delirious state of sweet and savoury; salty and fruity…I mean the flavour combinations go on and on and on with each individual morsel of precious food. Hands down; pound for pound; the BEST place for breakfast in London. Their other menu items are not bad at all but I always find myself longing for the incredible breakfast and the variety of offerings it comes with. Thank you Stage Brasserie; you have set the standard for UK...
