This restaurant is tightly packed with chairs and tables so it is difficult to move between them. The food was really good quality and well cooked. All you can eat buffet is reasonable at £25, but be aware they add 10% service charge to the bill . I recommend the endeme beans, these were delicious served hot. Udon stir fried vegetables was also packed full of flavour. Kimchi was nice, not had that before. Didn't particularly like the vegetable tempura as it was great chunks of veg. Prawn tempura was lovely. 2 people minimum must buy the buffet if you are having it, then you can order 6 dishes each at a time , then order again if wanted. One order for use was plenty... too much really... but we tried everything and ate most. Take note that they, correctly, don't like people over ordering and wasting food. You also can't take home leftovers so don't over order as they state they charge for wastage. I tried the ommlete sushi and tuna sushi but personally didn't like either of those, but others in my party thought they were very good.

Finally, I was able to return to Suchi Shimai, which I had longed for. I am Japanese, and Sushi Shimai serves excellent Japanese food that is totally comparable to the Japanese food I eat in Japan. The sushi and tempura are especially great. And this restaurant has a great hospitality staff (Mrs. Debby, please forgive me if spelled wrong) and a supremely skilled chef. If you want real Japanese food in London, you should definitely visit Sushi Sisters. (October 9, 2022) If you want real Japanese food in London, I definitely recommend this restaurant. The tempura, sushi, and sashimi served at this restaurant are all as good as what you would get in Japan. And the price of about £19 for all-you-can-eat is incredibly reasonable. The service is also excellent, Christina always keeps the restaurant clean and her personality is great. I would revisit this restaurant soon. Thank you Christina.

My go-to sushi place in London! It can get quite busy during dinner periods especially on the weekends so worth calling and booking (though I see both waitresses going back and forth in the restaurant so they might not pick up on first ring) I’ve been to Sushi Shimai with friends and alone. If you’re hesitant, their A La Carte menu is 50% off for lunch so definitely worth trying out their food over lunch! Note that some of their pervious ads on social media have their old pricing. Yet for the quality of their rolls, the miso aubergine, and their deep fried oysters - the all you can eat buffet is worth for the variety! First three photos are from lunch and the last is from the buffet!

I have been to a lot of sushi buffets in London and this was by far the worst in terms of customer service. They explained that I could order max 6 items on each page per round and there would be three rounds. I therefore ordered 6 sushi items in the first round, and left some rice from the sushi on my plate as the uramaki was very big and contained a lot of rice. When I asked to order the second round (as they had taken the order sheet away while we ate), I was told I had to finish all the rice off or I would be charged £5. The rice was not worth £5 and the lady then proceeded to show me the menu of the uramaki which was £6.80 which was irrelevant as she was acting as if I hadn't touched it at all, when in reality I had eaten all of it but pulled some rice off as was too full.

On top of this, when we ordered the fried vegetables, this turned out to be fried bean sprouts, carrots, and onions, and included no green vegetables.

I also ordered a miso aubergine and this came out completely covered in oil, there was a pool of oil inside which put me off completely.

Anyway, as I complained about this, the young waitress took these dishes away with great reluctance. Regarding the rice wastage, I found her extremely rude, considering we were paying customers. I found her attitude unhelpful and rude and she later went back into the kitchen and I could hear her complaining about us very loudly through the door. The whole situation made us feel very awkward and uncomfortable, and I can truly say it is the first time I have been in a restaurant meal and felt incredibly unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Plus sides are that the salmon sashimi slices are quite big, and the service was fast (but the restaurant was empty at the time).

Another thing I didn't like was that the restaurant staff started speaking in cantonese about us, which I can understand (as I am from a cantonese background). I found it incredibly unprofessional and they really did not make me feel like we were paying customers there. After the uncomfortable encounter we left very quickly as the atmosphere was now rather unpleasant for us. When the bill came they had put on the service charge which I was surprised at due to the obvious unpleasant experience we had had. Anyway we quickly paid it and left as didn't want anything more to do with...

I'm not sure where to start. But maybe we'll start with the positive points. This is a small and cozy restaurant with a varied menu and a fairly friendly price for an "all you can eat" restaurant. They are quite strong in the offer of starters, however the sushi is not very fresh and the pieces of sushi are very large and full of rice. The service and the way they interact or approach the customer is terrible and in a group of 5 people we feel in all humiliated and mistreated. They cannot explain the terms and conditions to customers correctly and honestly before the order begins. We were threatened consecutively by the same employee that if we didn't eat everything, that we would overpay. However when we asked when it would be overcharged, no one could say a specific amount (not specified also in the menu) and just said "We don't charge much, don't worry!" In the end, we were charged 9 drinks when only 6 were ingested. When we tried to explain that in fact there were 6, they wanted to charge the nine drinks anyway and in the end, they ended up removing all the drinks to try somehow to compensate. Of the saddest, poorest, most terrible experiences I've ever had. Good starters, but it's not worth the sushi. Hovewer, should it's certainly great for those who like to be mistreated. I'm not coming...
