We found the food nice. Not the best Indian food we've had, but nice. The Naan bread was delicious. But the service was terrible! I was frightened of the waiter/owner. He was surly and rude. He never smiled. He looked angry the whole time. He offered pappadums, which we accepted, but then he brought chutneys as well. I quickly checked the menu and noticed that the chutneys were £1 each. So I spoke up and said we wanted the pappadums, but not the chutneys. He snatched them away and gave me an evil look. It reminded me of Faulty Towers. Disgusting behaviour from the so called manager ALI gave me a "general name" over charged us, never told us that the popadum and chutney that he selected the amount was part of our bill the 20 years he has worked there no one has dared to question him apparently. Tone of voice was despicable speaking as a manager to a customer. Gave him a suggestion to let customers know that the popadum and chutney are chargeable and he literally shouted at me bringing me the menu. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THE MANAGER OFFERS YOU. Ordered chicken do piaza to take home, had it with garlic naan and honestly cannot understand what these raving reviews are about. The food is bland, naan bread passable. Dopiaza is meant to be mild sweeter curry, this has no heat or flavour other than onions that are as such appreciated. Extremely bland. Nothing particularly memorable. The waiter rounded up the bill expecting I don’t notice, then blamed print error on the menu. In the end I got the extra money back, hence the poor service review, inexcusable.
