We came last Friday and tried xmas set menu : food,,ambience and service were abysmal , here is why: LACK Of ORGANISATION or CARE They called ahead to check our set Xmas menu choices, so they knew well ahead how many people and which food options we had picked Yet on the day food ran out and they seemed to struggle to find enough food to complete the orders ,we were 8 people. QUALITY of FOOD The 1st dish of scallops did not taste fresh, 3 small scallops from frozen packet , Half the group got served ,other half still waiting 30min for theirs so could not all eat together, as 1st lots meals would have got cold Dessert was the worst, cheap shop fruit cake slices, cold and stodgy with strawberry jam drizzled on top sitting in puddle of thin yoghurt bizarre combination of cheap ingredients, when I asked what the yoghurt like stuff was, I was told it was meant to be a well known india cream ( ruburdi) which it definitely was not! The 2nd dessert choice was an Indian syrup dumpling with carrot halwa served on fried pastry, however one of our group didn't get theirs for ages, and when it finally arrived it was a piece of cut up shop bought Belgian waffle with the carrot halwa thrown on top! When we asked the waiter they could not explain why it was different POOR SERVICE : one waiter managed to spill a tray of sweet syrupy liquer all over one of our group, her back, hair and coat were covered, yet no apology or offer of free drink or even to check she was okay ,it took 10min before someone came to clean up the puddle of Sticky goo around her chair, food arriving upto 30-40min separately for different people at table, we were not a large group, resteraunt was not even full. No cutlery or napkins ,no apology for mishaps, or dodgy dessert with missing ingredients LACK OF AMBIENCE: considering it was Xmas and a cmas meal some effort could have been made with festive decorations and nice table settings instead we got empty wooden canteen table, the live music was one girl with guitar singing same 5 songs on repeat ,but she was the best part if this place Overall cheap canteen food standard for premium resteraunt prices coupled with poor slow service, Worst experience in dining to date Disappointed as this was meant to be our special night out of the year, but was a real let down after we had heard...
Read moreThis was very much a dinner of two halves. The decor is modern and stylish. When we first arrived at 6:30pm, there were only a couple of people there and the staff were attentive and helpful. The menu has a great selection of dishes. The drinks menu was equally impressive. Our first and only course was a selection of appetisers that was served in good time and the flavours of the food was amazing. However, the chicken tikka arrived cold and was red in the middle. It was a shame as everything else was perfect. We told staff who apologised, although didn’t offer a replacement or any resolution apart from an apology. We then wanted a dessert and some more drinks. It was busier by then but we had to ask for the menu from 3 staff members before getting a menu. Then no one came to our table for 45 minutes. We could see other people having similar issues in terms of waiting. As we had to go by 8:45pm, we ended up having to skip dessert and just get the bill. Again, a shame. We ended up, as did others, having to leave our table to disturb other staff members to get the bill. Then when the bill arrived, the tikka had been included which led to an awkward moment of having to explain that we hadn’t eaten it as it was undercooked. The service charge was automatically included. Overall, one course took 2 hours which is a bit much. It’s nice to have a new restaurant in town and when it was good, it was great but there were some elements that left a lot...
Read moreI had an exceptional dining experience at Talli Kitchen in Orpington, thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by our waitress, Mansi. From the moment we walked in, Mansi made sure we felt welcome and attended to our every need throughout the meal. Her attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were truly impressive, and she helped us make some excellent choices.
Mansi's warm and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our evening, making it even more enjoyable. She ensured that our glasses were never empty, provided timely recommendations, and even took the time to check in on us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.
In addition to Mansi's excellent service, the food at Talli Kitchen was exquisite. The flavors were a delightful blend of traditional and contemporary, and each dish was prepared with precision and care.
Overall, Mansi's exceptional service and Talli Kitchen's delicious cuisine combined to create a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend both the restaurant and Mansi as a waitress to anyone looking for a fantastic Indian dining experience in Orpington. Thank you, Mansi and Talli Kitchen, for an...
