Ordered through deliveroo. Food arrived as a disaster, the ramen especially was leaking like crazy despite being upright and wrapped in clingfilm ,the paper bag managed to survive up to my kitchen counter at which point it broke completely leaving a tremendous amount of ramen miso soup and some katsu sauce, I thought it was all katsu sauce as due to the fact that the weight of the ramen looked like it had collapsed the containers containing the katsu curry and noodles, but soon realised the vast majority of the spillage was the ramen. At this point I thought OK the packaging was the main problem and I couldn't really blame the delivery guy, so I started checking the food that remained. Firstly the katsu chicken was overdone, I found this happening in quite a few restaurants offering this dish as I think leaving it an extra 30 seconds in the frying pan could cause it to be overdone, especially where the meat is thinner, it was much too dark all over and tasting confirmed. Now to the Ramen..... I tried taking the lid off, it sort of split and left a second lid behind, explains why the container might not have been up to the task. The ramen was tasty enough but I had ordered chicken... I got pork....The noodles I got in a container which I assume was meant to go with the ramen smelled faintly of fish...my senses are not the sharpest so maybe I am wrong about this description, but yeah not great to be smelling...

Their manner is very nasty and the food made us sick. We have been there for lunch but we didn't liked the taste of the food. It smelled like rotten eggs. We could leave the restaurant or even ask for another food with a better taste and smell but instead we tried to solve the problem by kindly asking them to bring us some parsley to add into our food to not feeling the bad smell and taste. We just wanted to be good with them. But after around 5 minutes discussion in the kitchen they came out with a pinch of parsley (not even exaggerating) and when I asked them for more parsley at least 2 pinch they said we don't give this service. They really don't know how to behave with costumer specially when they are trying to be good with you. In order not to harm their business by returning the food, we wanted to solve the problem with parsley, but they really didn't deserve it, while Sainsbury's is right in front of their restaurant and the price of a bag of parsley is only around 69 pence. Let's not forget that we all got diarrhea and the bad smell of the food was because of...

Me and my colleagues have been going to this place for well over a year or so and everything was brilliant. Within the last month or two, the quality of food and service has been very poor.

For instance, our favourite dish is the Duck Don, which used to be amazing, has now gone up in price and you receive significantly less food that you did before.

The DD used to be £7.95 and contain two portions of duck. It now cost £8.70 and only contains one portion of duck. If you mention this to them they virtually ignore you. If you ask for extra extra extra extra sauce, they still give you sweet FA. Really disappointing and after having the same expereince a number of times, complaining to them about this with no change or attempt to make up for it (they only offer their word that next time it will be better), we have decided that we will no longer go there.

Word of advise, if you still fancy the food there, make sure you check it all before you leave and don't have...

Taro is slightly bit pricier than other Japanese restaurants at the similar level. However, their staff and dining environment in this branch are great. My regular order is the unaju bento, which I find a good deal considering the variety of dishes and the size it comes with. Their salmon sashimi and sushi are great and comforting. The miso soup is also delicate. It’s kind of nice and relaxing to come have dinner on weekday evening as it’s quiet and peaceful in this restaurant. It’s very common to see people come alone to enjoy their personal Japanese moment with a plate of edamame/takoyaki/sushi and a pint of Asahi.

The food is average, but the price is not transparent. In the menu in the restaurant and outside the restaurant, your sashimi bento box shows the price of £ 13.90 but when I ordered it, I had to pay £ 14.40. It’s not a big difference but rather than letting me pay the price that was on the menu, your staff insisted that I had to pay £ 14.40. Just because that’s a new price that you have conveniently “forgot” to communicate with the customers.
