Vibez Caribbean — Restaurant in London

I hate to say it but the food is horrible. The staff always are friendly and offer good customer service but unfortunately the food is not edible , I ordered jerk strips and rice and peas, first of all I wasn’t even able to bite into the strips as to how hard it was it literally hurt my teeth and chicken is supposed to be soft you could tell it was old didn’t bother eating it the spice level was just 100% pure spice no flavour also, the patties are nice I’ll give them that. The jerk pasta I got given was expired smelled horrible once I got home literally had to spit it out, you could tell this wasn’t made fresh at all.. for the money you’re spending you expect the food to be top tier but unfortunately this doesn’t represent Jamaican food at all , as a Jamaican myself it sad to see how many restaurants fail at cooking Jamaican food because this is not it , this could of resulted in way worse if I ate that food and had food poisoning then what would of happened.. it’s very tragic that you think you can serve old expired food you’re just ruining the label of Jamaican food. Overall a bad experience with poor food and and a 100 minute wait for delivery.

The good: They had a great ackee and saltfish, the plantain was properly made, the Spanish rice was tasty and the jerk pasta was good too.

The mediocre: The oxtail was tender but overly salted and lacking the depth and flavour it should have. Rice and peas were a little dry, more than it should be.

The bad: The jerk chicken was terrible, the worst I have had in any carribean restaurant. The sauce was saccharine sweet with little flavour other than sugar and heat. The chicken itself was hard and dry. It was stringy in a way suggesting that it was old or overcooked. The stew chicken was also excessively sweet ruining it. It lacked any savouriness or that it should have.

Delivery: The delivery took 100 minutes to arrived over a 3 mile distance and it took a phone call to get it to arrive. I had ordered mac and cheese but had recieved jerk pasta instead which was nice but not what I wanted. The food arrived warm. I could have forgiven the wait if the food was good, but I was sorely...

I ordered a delivery for myself and my husband last night just before 7pm of curried goat with rice & peas, peppered prawns with plain rice, saltfish fritters & coleslaw. The restaurant called me at 8pm saying they had a issue with drivers but my order would be with me soon. 15 minutes later, another phone call. This time, it was to tell me they were out of curried goat. My replacement options were pepper strak or oxtail. I chose oxtail. (I shouldnt have!) Then I was told they were preparing my food now, over 1 hour after ordering. When my food finally arrived AFTER 9PM, the best thing about my meal was the coleslaw. The rice was old that had been reheated, the oxtail was bland & had absolutely no flavour & it came with plain rice, not the rice & peas that were ordered.
