BLOOD IN STOOL I heard a lot of hype about this restaurant over the years which I decided to take my wife for our wedding anniversary dinner on the 6th Oct 2020. I booked the table through their friendly customer service in advance which on the day I was late however the waitress team manage to get me a table after 30 mins late. As I arrived, I was disappointed to discover that we have to use the stairs to ge to the restaurant level, I had assumed there would have been a lift service however I was not offered at the reception. We proceeded to our table with a fantastic view with a amazing ambience. Me and my wife placed out order with starter followed by the main meal where I ordered a mix grill. After waiting for at least 35 minutes, out main meal arrived, and I started to consume and my wife suddenly notices that out meal was cold. We have consumed 25% of the meal and had no option to send the food back to complained about the food being cold. The manager has come around and offered us to re-heat the food which I was not expected. I had expected to have a new plate. After 10 minutes later, our consumed food came which had been reheated. We continued to eat with dissatisfaction and did not agree with the reputation this restaurant holds. I did not offer to pay service charge and did not agree with the amount the bill came to (approximately £95) for two people. I had mentioned to the manager that I was disappointment with the overall experience and food. I had reached home 10pm and went to bed as it was working day, and this where my experience goes from bad to horrendous. During my sleep around 1am, I was feeling a significant amount of pain in my abdominal area where I was sweating during my sleep, I woke up and went to the toilet seat with agony. Being half a sleep and dealig with a turbine being twisted in my stomach, The pain was getting worst. I got up from the toilet seat and waled to our bedroom gasping for air. I called my wife’s name trying to get her attention to request an ambulance. My wife woke up alarmed to see me, she described my face had turned paled with sweat running down my face. I started to lose conscience and collapsed on the bed. My wife called the ambulance which the emergency services said they will send within 20 m0mintes. My wife tried to wake me up and slowly I started to gain conscience slowly saying to my wife, ‘My stomach is killing me’. I rested on my bed and the pain had slow down for me to catch my breath, I said to my wife to cancel the ambulance as it has been part 20 minutes. As my wife called to cancel the requested, the ambulance had ring the doorbell. I was checked out my the ambulance and they said my levels are normal however they asked if I was passing any stool and whether there was any blood noted. I said I could not tell, as it was dark. I was recommended to go the emergency services. I refuse to go due to the time and implications of catching Covid-19 in a vulnerable environment, I decided to stay on and email my work that I will not be able to attend work. The next day, my pain was getting worst and I started to note blood in my stool. I was not passing any solid but plently of blood. I took myself to the A&E for a doctor to diagnose my symptoms and I started to fear for the worst of me. After waiting 3 hours at the A&E, I was going through a phase in myself where I may have not had long to live, the fact I was at this stage is purly based on the type of food I had consumed. I was very disappointment with the outcome and what had happened to at a young age. After the doctor has diagnose me and checked out my back side, it was concluded that I am suffering from Salmonella infection. The doctor said, this can occur due to the poor kitchen hygiene and uncooked meat. I have pass on my experience to the Food Standard Agency which they will further investigate the issue. I no longer will attend this restaurant despite their rating and reputation. I advise everone to double check their food before consuming with a phone torch as I wished that I did when I...
Read moreIf a snake was a person! I recently used the private hire space in Tarshish for my birthday; what a rollercoaster! TLDR: Double booked me delaying my prep, retrospectively added £300 room hire to booking that they demanded out of the blue on the night and then gave away free drinks to my guests then charged me for not meeting minimum drinks spend; the height of deceitfulness.
I enquired about my dates and then made the visit from South to North London to view (along with many other venues) and was told it was a set menu of £45pp (inc service charge paid in cash on the night) and minimum £25 drinks spend. I knew my guests wouldn’t make the full spend as there were many non-drinkers so I decided I was willing to make the difference. I was advised if I decided to go ahead, I had to come back in person to give a £500 cash deposit to secure the room. As inconvenient as it was, I did just that and was told to sign a paper ‘form’ they have where they write all the details about the booking on it and get me to sign and they keep this; no copy for me, no email with details, only auto email saying, you have a booking etc. Already felt dodgy but due to many reviews, I went ahead. Was called back on the same night telling me they’d missed that the room was already booked and they would try to speak to the other party. The stress! Then I called back day after day for about a week with them saying they were trying too get hold of this person so I was wasting time going back and forth looking for backup venues which wasted precious days of planning and sending out my invites. After a week they finally got the other person to confirm they didn’t want the room so I could rush to get everything else sorted now that I had a confirmed venue.
On the night, my makeup artist was 1.5 hours late which made me late which was already upsetting. On the face of it, Tarshish seemed to handle it well and with the busy kitchen they did their best to get food out. The main problem started when the final bill came. I saw the remaining food money, plus service charge plus £300 room hire. I felt sick! We asked Onur, what is this £300 room hire and he said “take out the picture you have on your phone of the contract”, knowing full well I had no copy or picture of the contract. He then showed my brother (who came with me on the viewing) a contract where they had prominently written in pen the £300 room hire fee that wasn’t there when I signed it. Sickening. He then said, well I was going to waive your remaining drinks spend and charge you £150ph for more time in the room so pay the drinks spend instead, which I would have just done from the beginning anyway (and the service charge was included but just shown separately). I paid an additional £372. After the event at least 3 separate people told me they were given free drinks on the night, including cocktails, who knows how many more. And still they charged me extra money for drinks they know they had given away. To look someone in the eye and lie about contracts and be so deceitful just speaks to the core of the person you are and Tarshish is run by the most devious of men that will screw you over when given the chance. Hire at...
Read moreThis lamb shank meat tasted like they had re-used damp cloth that they must of wipe down their kitchen with. Must of touched the surface of where they wash their meat. It stinks I was shocked told the waiter I can't eat this, the waiter couldn't give a dam and said I will speak to the manager and as I watched her take my food away she shoved my plate and put other dirty plates on top of the plate I was eating on into a lift where it goes down to the kitchen. And came back with a dessert menu.... Who said I was done?
And where is the manger when you said you will speak to him?
Untrained staff members teaching them to feed lies to their customers.... As I wanted to have a good time with my friend celebrating her birthday she also asked the staff that took my plate away what happened to the food? The staff then called the manger and didn't even acknowledge what I was trying to say and said we'll give you a free dessert. Was that meant to be justified? He said he will go to the kitchen and speak to his team and have a taste himself.
The manger came back after 2 minutes and said he tasted the food and didn't taste bad at all.
Do we look like fools?
So your chef made you a fresh lamb shank for you to taste???
There was no way he tasted off the plate I had eaten as it was piled on top off other dirty plates.
I told him your staff member just took my plate and shoved it in the lift to bin it and then brushed it off and gave me dessert menu when she said she will get the manger and speak with him regarding my concern. He said he will speak to his staff member to see what happened he never came back.
Did it ever occur to them perhaps to offer another main course. I did come for dinner and to have a good time. And they still gave me service charge after what I experienced and tried to get rid off us asap wiping down our tables and waiting for us to finish up after telling them the problem with the food I paid for! We stayed for 50 minutes our time got cut short.
