Tesco Cafe — Restaurant in London

Does your company have any understanding of customer service at all?

I popped into Tesco Cafe in Gallions Reach Beckton for brunch, as I have many times before Covid. I requested 2 brunches, one veg and one meat. The cashier took my order and I paid but I did not get a receipt. Imagine my surprise when we received 2 vegetarian brunches. I queried this with the server who said that she would correct this order. I waited and waited but no new order came. I went back to the cashier and having queued for another 15 minutes was told that Tesco now only serve vegetarian food and that I would have to eat, my now cold, fly infested, vegetarian meal. I left my plate and walked out.

1. Why accept orders for things you do not provide?

2. Why lie to customers?

3. Why not answer your phones?

4. Are you trying to force people to become vegetarian? I think that is illegal.

I have just spent the last hour trying to reach the store on the phone. No one answers!

Was told the wait was around 20-25 mins. Can't say I was pleased but I can't blame the staff. I didn't get anything. However, one staff member (a blond lady, stocky build) was a little curt when I asked whether staff were clearing tables. Okay I understand you are under pressure but don't be curt if you can't handle it. When she did start to clear tables she did all the tables except the one where my wife and kids were standing. I wondered why? Was it deliberate or some other reason? Whatever it was I I felt she deliberately didn't clear it. That's my view. She may say different. What her reasons are I don't know because I didn't challenge her. Next time I encounter that kind of behaviour I will. I didn't want to make a fuss because I didn't stay to eat because of the wait. I was so excited to try the toasted marshmallow matcha but unfortunately I could not bring myself to drink it. I saw the server make the matcha with tap water which was the first red flag, I asked if they always make their matcha with tap water and she said yes. She had already made the drink and as I already paid, I just left. The drink itself was mainly milk and ice as you can see from the colour, barely any matcha.
